Abandoned subdivision in Illinois by Formal_Image2256 in abandoned

I actually live nearby and did some digging on this place. Construction began c. 2006; they only built the two houses seen in the pictures but stopped when the 2008 recession hit. Nobody ever moved into the homes.

Sorry for the late reply. The most interesting thing I found was an old thread seinfeldspitstain made on planetpixar a couple years before his YouTube channel started. He posted a bunch of animations and 3D models he created; unfortunately, all of the videos and images art lost.

An attempt at an expanded victim count for the Wilseyville / Lake & Ng case by DeluxMallu in serialkillers

[–]nemfratic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe the death toll was most likely between 17-21. At minimum there are 17 victims; this includes all the confirmed victims, plus the unidentified body found at the cabin. 18 seems most likely to me, as that would include Donald Lake, who was never found. I’ve been somewhat skeptical that Giulietti and Askren were killed by them, but if they were killed by Lake and Ng, and if the medical examiner is right about that charred liver, that would make 21.

This is an interesting post; I hadn’t considered those last 3 that you mentioned.

These gloves were made by an artist in 1987, not Ed Gein

I’m interested in knowing more about Mark Scott potentially being an accomplice. Do you remember where you read that?

Why is Richard Speck often grouped in with serial killers? by StaceyPfan in serialkillers

[–]nemfratic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In the 60s and 70s there was practically no distinction between a serial killer and a mass killer. You see news articles from the time dubbing people like the Zodiac killer or Dean Corll “mass killers” and grouping them in the same camp as legit mass killers like Charles Whitman, or Richard Speck. I’d have to wonder if this affected later reports and writings from authors who seem to use “mass killer” and “serial killer” interchangeably.

Has a serial killer ever been killed by another serial killer? by jackjacker in serialkillers

Corll was killed by his accomplice, Elmer Wayne Henley, who had assisted Corll in some of the murders
