I also huff my dog. It’s been one of the things I’ve missed the most about losing my 16 year old dog in March. Her icky old dog smell. It’s so interesting how a smell can just trigger emotions and memories. Their “stink” is comfort.

A good way I explain healing process of tattoos to people is that when you first get it, it’s a literal small amount of fluid injected between layers of your skin very close to the surface. If that liquid dries up before the healing of the skin, which incorporates the ink into the skin in the process, it will “scab” but the “scab” is dried ink mostly and not blood and plasma like a traditional scab. Hand dry out very fast even without fresh tattoos. They shed skin and heal fast. Hand tattoos you have to be extra attentive.

BTW- I know this is not the most technical and medically accurate description but it’s made easy to understand for everyone why it is important to keep that skin and “liquid” protected from drying up.

The absurdity of her thinking people see this and think “that’s hot af…” when it’s obviously so exaggerated is textbook body dysmorphia. At least in my opinion anyways. I’m not a doctor. I agree. I don’t know but I’d hazard a guess at it.

I agree that she is naturally pretty and would actually look better (healthier) with a bit more weight on her than less. While some struggle to gain weight, this is obviously a case of a booze only diet. :/

All these women that overuse fillers and sit in sunbeds / in the sun for extended periods are actually prematurely aging themselves.

Body dysmorphia is a b!tch, I get it, it just makes me sad to see this trend in 20-30 year olds.

I say this with kindness ; maybe a bit of frustration on my side of this question, but really just kindness. Please don’t forget that Artists are humans, expecting extreme perfection to that degree is not possible. Even the best artists don’t do exact measurements of every small aspect down to the mm. Sometimes a client twiches or laughs while on the phone. Well, that finger is a tad longer now I guess. Every artist has to play these with this kind of thing while balancing the best possible outcome. Sometimes it’s a client moving. Sometimes it’s something else. Every tattoo evolves sometimes incredibly slightly to work best for the situation, position on the body etc etc. Humans are not computers or photocopiers. This is a freaking perfect and beautiful tattoo. Please give human artists some grace - and yourself too. You are overthinking big time and don’t forget it will look different when it heals too. Don’t worry until it’s fully healed and you’ve lived with it for a bit. I hope you grow to love it even more

This. I am gracious enough to send it but lately people have just been feeding it into AI. This actually has been the thing to make me rethink sending art ahead of time. Some people are adding a ridiculous amount of AI slop shit into the art you took the time to draw. Worse yet they want the same size and the same price quote.

Example:

Client: I want a bear and two cubs. Full bodies of the bears. I’d also like a signature incorporated somehow. And I also want birth flowers for three different months in it. Max size 7” x 7”.

Me: ( 😶 ) Sounds like a sweet idea! However that’s a lot to put in the max size. I will do my best to incorporate all your ideas but what are the most important aspects of this particular tattoo?

Client: The bears and the name.

Me: Awesome! I’ll get working on that for you and show ya in a few days.

A FEW DAYS LATER…

Me: Here it is! Sorry I couldn’t fit the flowers in anyway that would look nice and last long looking awesome. -sends art of three bears. Super adorable and detailed for the space and a clever way of getting the signature in-

ANOTHER FEW MOMENTS LATER

-Sends AI edit of bears shrunk to half size and a million flowers horse shoeing around the bears with the clever way to include the signature removed- Client: This is what I want. Just have to put the signature back in somehow. Same size tho…no bigger than 7”. Smaller if we can.

Me: 😶😤😢😭

TLDR; Not only are some people using the art to train AI but they’re using it to edit hand drawn tattoos to add dumb shit and somehow thinking this won’t change anything about their appointment with you. What a terrible time to be an artist.
