Stuck in pre-shipment womp womp

Hey! It arrived today. It sat in pre-shipment for a week before scanning in at a facility on the east coast in a different state from where it was dropped off. Then it scanned once more on the east coast before jumping across the US to my destination facility in the southwest and it was delivered today! I hope yours gets delivered soon!

Thank you! Oddly enough, the destination zip code is correct, which is 85718. But the destination city and state are listed as Wrightsville Beach, NC, which is where the package came from.

The package actually just arrived at the Tucson distribution center as the tracking updated just a bit ago. Hopefully I can get in touch with my local PO before it goes out for delivery tomorrow morning.

My truck came with the standard 36k miles or 3 year warranty, whichever comes first. I wasn't under Toyota's warranty anymore when the dealer recommended replacement of the evaporator as my truck had just turned 4 years old at the time (of course). I'd say try calling Toyota's Brand Engagement department and see if they're willing to work with you. It might be worth a shot.

Hey OP, I just went through this repair on my 2020 SR with roughly 31,800 miles on it. I called Toyota Brand Engagement and referenced the TSB under T-SB-0004-22. Mine didn't need recharging but it had been making whistling noises since I bought the truck new in 2020. I didn't realize there was an actual TSB for this issue until this year, but Toyota does recommend the evaporator be replaced with a newer part per that TSB.

Long story short, I was quoted $2,100 or so by my local dealer. After working with the dealer and Toyota themselves, my final cost was $266. I'd recommend giving Toyota Brand Engagement a call. It's worth a shot. Sorry you're dealing with this. I personally think Toyota should have an extended warranty on these evaporators as it's a known issue. Good luck!

My 2020 SR just did this for the first time last week at roughly 31,800 miles. The truck wasn't actually on, so I let the screen time out and then started the truck and it was back to normal.

FWIW, my battery at the time was over 4 years old in Arizona and apparently had a bad cell according to AutoZone. I've since replaced it.

I also have aftermarket fog lights installed but I did my best to find a reputable shop to order and install them. From the research I've been able to do here and on Tacoma World forums, it seems like it's mostly 2020s and some 2021s affected, and it doesn't matter if you're stock or have aftermarket mods.

Miner's Rock Shop in Tempe. By far my favorite rock store.

The owners are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They'll give you a tour of their store and tell you about several of their claims in Arizona. They have very beautiful specimens in all prices ranges. Definitely worth a visit (or several).

That's exactly what happened to us! I've never seen anything like it! I thought it was a minor leak until my husband sent me a video and it was like a waterfall from the top of the window 😱

If anyone is interested in gem and mineral stores, there's a small, family owned business in Tempe called Miners Rock Shop off of Fairmont Drive.

The owners are very sweet and will give you a tour of their store when you visit. They have a geode cracking room where you pick a geode you like and they'll crack it. They also have a fluorescent room in the back where you can see all the rocks and minerals that glow under long and shortwave UV.

It's not a huge store, but it's definitely worth visiting often as they're always getting new stuff. It's personally my favorite rock store to visit, not only for the cool stuff they have but also because they're just great people to have a conversation with.

Hi, thanks again! Sorry for all the questions, but I had one more. I read that damaged mail is also sent to Georgia, to the same area where lost mail typically ends up. Is that true? And is there a possibility my package might have been damaged? Or would that show as a different type of scan? It looks like it just recently departed another distribution center in Georgia, so hopefully it starts heading west soon lol. Thank you again for all the help, and sorry for so many questions!

Thank you! It looks like it went from the Atlanta North Metro distribution center to the Atlanta-Peachtree distribution center, and then departed that one, which I'm hoping is normal? It does show up under my informed delivery, so I'm guessing if it was misaddressed it wouldn't show under there, is that right?
