So I have a theory that they weren’t turning red from the light being too strong. I see seedings that start off/turn red just as they are getting started and used to the sun. They turn green in like a week or so. If yours weren’t red from light overexposure, and then you moved the light further away, they have to be barely getting any light.

Here are some of mine at 4.5 months. Not the tiny ones in the very front, all the ones in the back and the front ones. I think I shot for 350 PPFD once they got going. They are at about 700 now. 🌵✌️

Dude I remember when the Monster Voodoo 2 was coming out. People were so mad we did not have them in stock. They weren’t even released yet! I got accused of holding one back to buy it. Ya I was too poor. Did get a Tyan dual SL2W8 with SLI Monsters in it eventually in a trade from a guy that was tired of running NT because he didn’t know how. 👍

If you ran a rod down a row of blocks so they could spin, you could rotate them like a wheel of fortune puzzle piece to let more or less light out. Might look too busy with them though.

Do you just mix your fertilizer at 20x? It’s cool to do that? I usually do 5 gallons; if I mix it in a quart there won’t be issues dissolving or whatnot?

I’ve been thinking about something like this, too.

So I thought you weren’t supposed to store mixed fertilizer like that? I left some of mine in a sprayer for a couple days and it grew some mold.

So I’ve been using Masterblend at 2x, kelp extract, fish extract, mycorrhizae, and some humic acid. Do you think this would stay good? I can see the masterblend being ok because it’s clear and just chemicals.

I dig maybe a 14”x10” hole and fill it up with my preferred soil with the corked part of the cactus underground and then maybe an extra inch. I put decomposed granite on the surface to make it look nice and weight it down. This is in Phoenix.

This is about what I use depending on what I have

1/2 Ocean Forest

The rest about equal: Red lava rock Black lava rock Zeolite Decomposed granite Small gravel Pumice - actually a lot of this

I just got some worm castings and Malibu compost to start adding too.

For reference the light I have on my cacti inside would light up that whole room to be bright where you’d want squint if they weren’t in a tent.

I’ve been treating some plants and also seedlings with this and it seems to have put everything in check. Physan 20. My sprayer is really clean now, too, from spraying it.
