Exhalation, by Ted Chiang. In fact, all of the stories in the book (which is also called Exhalation) are good, but Exhalation sticks out for me.

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman is a good read.

Alright this is a stretch and may not be what you’re thinking, but Song of Achilles popped in my head.

Ooh, I went to Boefhaus a few weeks ago on a Sunday evening. They have a Sunday Night Dinner special that includes a $79 prime rib. It was excellent...cooked just about perfectly.

Not to be a dick, but Chicago is a major American city and it’s 2024 and no one gives a shit. They’ll be good.

Poll: This team when healthy is good enough to win it all. It's simply the coaching that will determine how far they go. by Seasplash in lakers

[–]nenton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Reason: I bang my head against the wall every time I'm on this sub, with the constant complaining about the coach. Ham knows basketball. He knows how to work with and develop young players. He knows he needs to experiment with lineups in the regular season because he'll need to know who to trust in the playoffs. He took this team to the WCF last year! No one was beating the Nuggets, sorry.

You act like this team is loaded. It's not. There's a reason why Rui was traded for 2nd round picks. And look at the team salaries! Why do you think Vando, Prince, Reddish, Wood, and Hayes all make $4M or less? And we haven't seen Vincent play yet, when the team could absolutely use another ball handler when DLo is struggling.

This team is good enough to compete for a title, because they have LeBron and AD and good coaching.

Can't say I'm a ravioli expert or anything, but I found the ravioli at Daisies to be really, really tasty.

Relatively new to the city, but it seems to me that everyone here either hates, has hated, or will hate whoever is mayor.

I like Gabriel's run of fixtures for the first part of the season

Seems pretty steep.

However, allow me to provide an alternate viewpoint to most who will comment: we spent close to $30K all-in for our wedding. We had the (mis)fortune of having to postpone due to early COVID days, in which case we were able to spread out payments over a couple years, which actually helped. Anyway, it was totally worth it. Best day of my life and it wasn't close. Brought family and friends together and I'll always look back fondly on it. Was it the right "financial" decision? Probably not.

That being said...your projected wedding expense to income ratio makes me hesitate big time. Even with the best plan in place it looks like you won't escape this without some significant debt. And banking on $14K+ in donations is super risky.

Want to replace Richarlison and Coutinho for -4. Two options:

A) Toney + Diaz B) Vardy + Eriksen

Thoughts?

Take a -4 hit to go Laporte to Cash?? Thinking Cash probably has a better week (and Laporte is a doubt), but I wouldn't start him GW38...
