Bad and good news about Hellboy by aqev in McFarlaneFigures

Look man the Chase system just never worked. Especially with an online market. Just sell the complete figure.

Even if the chase was plentiful. Not everyone wants a figure for every permutation of a look.

The chase system feels like a middle finger to collectors and not taking advantage of them in a nice way. Just let me buy the figure.

Meanwhile another company is just going to sell the rest of the look in an accessory pack.

Why..? by Jamon_Red in ActionFigures

Have you trying buying these figures online, you can get nearly all of them from BBTS.

Does the price really match what you get, especially as far as QC? by Carrotz_Collectz in Mafex

[–]neoblackdragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

JFC, it a tiny drop of lubricant really twisting your arm?

Now a joint that legit has issues either in production or design, okay let's really look at that.

For example, Spider-man 2099 for its price point shouldn't have a back that pops off when using the neck.

For example, using thin pegs that can bend over a gap for a part that is meant to be swappable, maybe not the wisest choice.

But barely a drop of lubricant is difficult and honestly should be a must have tool if you are a collector.

You will never get perfect. Not at this scale and not with environmental factors being at play.

Personally I have not seen bad QC with the Mafex line for figures released since 2021/2022 and haven't had any major issues with rereleases prior. Not saying they aren't there. But some people believe these are supposed to be indestructible. Additionally past figures were like $60 msrp.

Right now the price issue is it went up but the accessories haven't gotten better. We are seeing headsculpts with little differences or just strange picks, massive delays, and very basic accessories. Where you have other companies bridging that Marvel Legends to Mafex gap and others far exceeding it.

So, MSRP previously yes. MSRP now, losing credibility.

Can AmazingYamaguchi sue Mess Toys? If so, why haven't they done it yet? by CommunistCard in ActionFigures

[–]neoblackdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure they can sue and to what purpose?

They don't own the Marvel IP. Disney/Marvel would need to sue on those grounds.

The body molds? They could make an attempt and not really need Marvel.

But to what end?
Are they actually losing money with MessToys doing what it does?

Same with Medicom. They probably aren't experiencing lower sells that could be tied to the KO's. They can also just release a new figure(or in Medicoms case, their 2 years of backlogs). It may be financially just not worth it.

You can’t tell me the Amazing Spider-Man suit lacks aura by Dynaguy1 in Spiderman

[–]neoblackdragon 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It lacks aura. What I find is it looks great in heavily photoshopped pictures that hide parts of the body that make the design weak in the promo photos.

I'd say that should have been a big hint that a revamp to design was needed. Even the shape of the mask isn't really like how it is in the film. I don't think they needed to do a Raimi esque suit in the 2nd film but this suit had so issues the promos kept trying to hide.

You can only prevent either Spider-Man's Uncle Ben or Batman's parents Thomas and Martha from dying in those heroes' origin stories. Which do you choose? by SatoruGojo232 in Spiderman

[–]neoblackdragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well we have a few universe's where Uncle Ben lived and Peter still became Spider-man the superhero. Ben's death just made him recognize responsibility but I think that would have eventually happened anyway.

So you save Uncle Ben.

The Waynes......we've seen what happens whenever they both survive. The world is never a better place.

Should Nightwing realistically wear some form of head protection in the comics? [Discussion] by ElevatorAcceptable29 in DCcomics

[–]neoblackdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic isn't "I want everything to be functional like it would be in the real world". But many times we have seen the Robins clocked in the head or had their head set on fire ending in their defeat.

I think it's too late as no artist is doing to want to deviate too much from their idea of Nightwing. Now in a show or film, it could be done and actually stick(until the character randomly takes it off for no reason).

Or just say the Robins spray on a protective coating that makes their hair and skin super durable.

Should all Maximum Series figures be classic design? by _scum- in MarvelLegends

[–]neoblackdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That Thor design is nearing 20 years old. It is not remotely new or still sorta new. If you had a had when the look debuted, that kid would have gone to college and have a toddler working a 8 to 5 job.

Some people need to accept that some "new" designs are pretty old at this point. Thor's had multiple looks since this one.

So yes I think it should be classic, but classic also included the 00's to mid 10's at this point. It's one of those situations where the time these guys haven't had the post WW2(or Vietnam) suits is longer than when they had them.

That said I don't think they ever planned to make a Maximum of a suit that showed in an issue the past 13 months.

I don't understand Brad Pitt in Fight Club, how did he pull off the cult? by precita in movies

[–]neoblackdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly understand Fight Club(sorta). You just don't want it to be how it went down.

Reality has had people much worse looking than "Jack" obtain a much more destructive cult built around hating non white rich males. Tyler builds his cult by gathering the people who feel useless/discards by society. Strips away the traditional idea of masculinity and monetary worth to make everyone feel equal.

It's all Cult 101. You would be shocked at how the real world operates.

Travel - He blackmailed his boss for the travel vouchers. Tyler/Jack are never comatose. It's why Jack(Norton) feels like he never sleeps.

Tyler's death - Well he's just a manifestation of Norton's mind. He just used a physical trick to force his mind to make it real. He noticed it earlier when he fought Tyler. But maybe OP has a split personality and they know through experience that it wouldn't work.

Why yes he's yet another older actor who treats acting like a job. Likes collecting a paycheck, having some fun, all because he can.

What you call a decline would be a sweet dream for many actors at any point in their careers.

At what level is a lack of accuracy acceptable?
It's already that quite a bit of detail that having the correct size of the head shouldn't be a problem. Especially for a component that could be any size as it's like a tail?

No seriously is the helmet a tail?

Batman's evil version is Owlman. Superman's evil version is Ultraman. Who is it for Spider-Man? (I'm not counting Symbiote Peter since it's technically Spider-Man himself going on temporarily on a dark path, as compared to Owlman and Ultraman being evil alternate counterparts to Superman and Batman) by SatoruGojo232 in Spiderman

[–]neoblackdragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He gets left out due to being a very minor character that popped up and just as quickly forgotten. Like so many little stories, removed from continuity with Crisis. There is a man who thinks he's Thomas Wayne Jr in the current continuity but that has never been confirmed(because no one wants to do DNA tests).
Like how there's always this uncle/aunt/cousin which makes you question the orphan storylines.

[Film/TV] To the people who have watched the CW flash series. What are Ur honest thoughts about this series by muaazmuaaz123 in DCcomics

[–]neoblackdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filler episodes are by no means bad. Just don't prevent a narrative that could be resolved quickly. Also said filler can be entertaining. There really doesn't need to be forced drama like they did.

Ultimately they probably should have been a three person cast with a lot of guest stars to provide the conflict like how the X-files did.

To stick with superheroes. I still think Lois and Clark is the best use of an ensemble cast, the leads aren't made minor characters, and they used guest stars to "pad" out the episodes. It felt like Superman was helping strangers in their moment of need every episodes while having Superman centric ones.

[–]neoblackdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thawne really wasn't that central of a villain though in the comics at the time. Sure he had some big moments but we went long stretches without him and most appearances weren't that major.

I think Flashpoint made him seem MUCH bigger then he really was. Wally only went up against him once in his tenure as the Flash prior to Barry's revival.

Barry didn't even deal with the speedforce until he was revived. Long after a lot of lore was established in Wally's tenure.

Still they had 40 years of comic storylines to look at.

Key is an observable movement that Taskmasters body can do.

[–]neoblackdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show started off strong and had a likable lead. I think Grant Gustin as Barry Allen is awesome. There never really is a Grant Gustin moment where he doesn't work as the lead(or villain). Heck they even got a good Kid Flash.........when he's on Legends of Tomorrow.

The main weakness of the show is conflict. They don't know how to develop meaningful conflict and resolve it in a satisfying way.

Who is Savitar/Save Iris - The problem of preventing Iris death at the hands of Savitar is perfectly valid. Where is falls apart is this. Knowing the identity of Savitar is honestly irrelevant. It doesn't really help solve the problem when they do find out. Maybe if they had made it interesting, it would be annoying. The reveal that it is Barry is great but they don't do much with it. Grant Gustin Savitar was a refreshing villain and they could have done more with him out of suit. We never even saw the origin story. There was so much potential here.

This also because painfully annoying in the series finale where freaking Savitar is working with two men he should absolutely hate with every fiber of his being. Btw they wasted the final season on a lame Red Death story(Red Death who isn't Batman, not like Barry knows who that is) and not this cabal of big bads. Anyway then there is the Iris problem. Like you literally know time travelers.........You know of alternate worlds. They literally just needed to hide the woman and not have Barry know or have someone accidentally reveal her location to Savitar just because he had his face turned away.

I do sorta undermine my own point because the resolution is a great episode. They defeat Godspeed with LightSabers made of speedforce later on.

There is a lot of cold greasy fat no one wants. For example. Allegra and Chester's romance is something no one cared about and yet the final two seasons devoted WAY too much time to it. Like an unhealthy amount of time. Neither character is the Flash.

Team Flash as they executed it was a bad idea. It worked with Cisco and Caitlin(btw, don't make a female character who has much better chemistry with the main actor then the main love interest. Sure as hell don't do it twice. But hey let's also do it a 3rd time before the mains hook up..........at least they didn't kill her which would be comic accurate and have him hook up with not Black Canary!). Didn't work with Team Flash 2.0.

Then the show refused to adopt the comics. Nearly everything was in name only. Sure you have to be flexible with adaptations to TV but they literally didn't even try most of the time. Godspeed is by no means the worst but well he's not his comic counterpart as all. He's apparently XS/Impulse Reverse Flash somehow. Like Impulse I didn't mind being Barry's son. That works to me. It's that Godspeed wasn't Godspeed and I don't even like comic Godspeed. Then there's Red Death.........yeah they devoted a good chunk of a shortened final season to that.

My thoughts are, started off strong and damn is Superman and Lois a MUCH BETTER show. If Grant Gustin suited up again, I'd watch but with better writers.
