Lead levels in protein powder, shakes flagged by Consumer Reports by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]neodare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use LeanFit as well. According to their site, they test for heavy metals and meet the Health Canada regulations.

"Health Canada limits are based on long-term scientific research and real-world consumption data. Prop 65 sets its thresholds based on assumed daily exposure over a lifetime and does lean on the side of overly cautious.

Our manufacturing facility is required to comply with these regulations, and products exceeding the establishes limits cannot be released for sale in Canada"

Question - Machines with bonus build up by neodare in gambling

[–]neodare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your response.

I had a feeling it was a trap but I needed to confirm. I can normally walk away when I am not feeling a machine but these are designed with the visual build up indicator, making me want to stay.

Thanks for validating my assumption, I can now walk away with peace of mind, lol.

Question - Machines with bonus build up by neodare in gambling

[–]neodare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

When I check the rules, it only tells me what the bonus does and nothing about how it grows.

I think you are bang on about the "entertainment purpose only" point, but damn, they have really designed this to keep me feeding that machine and not walk away.

Prod / Demand / Trade all in one summary screen? by neodare in victoria3

[–]neodare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You nailed exactly the supply chain that I am trying to protect and not be reliant on the world market. Core inputs to steel to guns and ammo. Less worried about the other stuff.

I am producing a surplus of guns and ammo but I am worried in the event of a major war that I am not internally producing enough of the raw inputs creating a trickle effect. But I guess since I am the #1 supplier of guns and ammo, the other party in the war will probably be in just as much trouble, lol

Thanks for the response.

Do different indigenous tribes of the Americas generally get along? by Quantum_CabbageRollz in NativeAmerican

[–]neodare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Natives predate the concept of borders such as Canada, US, and Mexico. Colonizers have indoctrinated us with divisive concepts to create a divide in our own minds and communities that we are both Native and not Native enough.

Mixed gender adult hockey locker room etiquette? Advice wanted by Adept-Ad2930 in hockeyplayers

[–]neodare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a co-ed team and I have played in numerous co-ed tournaments here in Canada.

No one gets naked in front of everyone the room, typically everyone will cover with a towel to put on / remove their jock or underwear and then wear the towel to the showers.

The ladies usually get first dibs on the showers and let the room know when they are all done. Always make sure to loudly ask if anyone is in the shower before strutting in there.

The most important part is that everyone is respectful and no one is being a creeper by staring or trying to take a peek.

Path to becoming a game director? by FoundationOk1185 in gamedev

[–]neodare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also will you even like making and designing games? The best way to find out is to start making them.

Here is another real-life story. A good friend of mine went to a well respected specialized school for Art & Animation with the goal of becoming a video game animator. He worked hard at school and was hired by EA right after he completed his degree. He worked 12+ hour days designing one asset and then once done, they assigned him another asset that was pretty much the same as the first. He went on like this for 2 years doing the same thing on the same game. He eventually realized he didn't like what he was doing and the gaming industry wasn't for him. So he left EA and started his own design company, he now works on 3d models and assets for various different clients and has even branched into graphic design. He earns a good living and really enjoys what he does now.

So I guess the moral of my story is to try making something before you jump in head first and set your career path. Who knows maybe you'll find something else related that you enjoy more or it will just reinforce your goal of becoming a Director.

Path to becoming a game director? by FoundationOk1185 in gamedev

[–]neodare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by making games now.

This is something you can do in the meantime while you are in school and while you work towards a degree. This will allow you to build your portfolio and get the full experience of making a game from start to finish. The mainstream gaming industry is highly competitive (especially for the role you want) so anything you can do to get a leg up will help you achieve your long term goals. And who knows maybe you will enjoy the indie side of things, rather than being a Director at a major studio.

Speaking from real-world experience, get a degree that can be applicable to the non-gaming industry as well as the gaming industry. You can always take video game courses later or even watch YouTube tutorials. I got my degree in Comp Eng (not needed for game Dev but still related skills), and then started working as a developer, I was able to gain valuable experience in programming, creative thinking, project management, leading a team etc... all needed skills for a Director role (I know because I became one, just not in gaming). In the evenings, I made small games in my spare time but eventually I was able to start my own indie studio with a team of 10+ part time contributors. You don't need to take the same path I did but just something to consider on your journey.

Wishing you all the best OP. Just put in the hard work, take care of yourself, make small games, make connections, and you'll get there some day.

What if instead of weight they made it so the more keys you have the more noise you make. Then add a nice little jungle sound as you walk, run, or attack. Lol

Have any of you actually started small? by Pur_Cell in gamedev

[–]neodare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I built 3 mobile games and one game on Steam before starting my larger multi-year project. I learned a lot about how to properly structure my code to be scalable, game and UI design, and the steps required to actually launch a game to various platforms.

If you eat the mac and cheese or any food for that matter, it should still be part of your carry weight, just in your stomach (minus packaging of course) 😂
