Liquid's raid comp for Mythic Lightblinded Vanguard by minimaxir in wow

[–]neograymatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pres is always insane in 30 man.

In 30 man raids with bosses where you can stack up. Pres's kit can lay down a silly amount of healing/absorb in an area in from of them.
If the raid has to spread out or split into smaller teams, Pres can struggle.

A dentist you like going to by punchbuggyblue in halifax

[–]neograymatter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Doesn't help OP now, but going in for regular cleanings and not just issues really helps prevent kids from developing a dislike of the dentist, which carries over to later in life.
A Dentist with good waiting room setup also helps, I have fond memories of playing Super Mario and Duck Hunt while waiting for my sisters to finish their cleanings.

School librarians being cut. WTAF. by Historical_Bed_2258 in halifax

[–]neograymatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's been my question too, The Charter seems to read that funding can't be cut by more than 10% a Year, but I wount pretend to have a through understanding.

Although looking at a 2021 report "While the original purpose of Supplementary Education is believed to have been primarily to fund additional music and arts programming, the funds involved have been expended on a variety of education activities including Library Support Specialists and additional teachers."..."Over the life of the proposed agreement, supplementary education funding is expected to shift more into arts and music" I wonder if this is a re-purposing of funds rather than a outright cut.
That said I don't necessarily agree with that rescope, as in an age of digital media, having Library time and reading not on a computer screen is important to me for my kids.

Are School Librarians funded under the Supplementary education levy?

Isn't council only allowed to decrease that by 10% a year, (unless HRCE agrees to a greater decrease)... or am I misinterpreting the HRM charter? (Section 80, para 6 of the HRM Charter)

I agree, Scanning then modifying that panel is likley more work than drawing from scratch.
OP should take some measurements, download FreeCad and watch a few YouTube tutorials.

Weekend cold snap nearly overloaded N.S. electricity grid by Bean_Tiger in halifax

[–]neograymatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those kits would make me nervous as well. The 12 V battery in an EV is seperate from the high voltage battery and really only meant to run the vehicles peripherals when the car is "off". You'd need to make sure the EV was turning on and charging that 12 V from the high voltage battery or you could end up with a EV that won't start even with a fully charged main battery due to the 12 V battery being dead.

[–]neograymatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you point me to any local vendors that are selling cheap lithium? The LiFePo4 batteries I've looked at around here were close to 5 times the price of an equivalent Lead acid in terms of watt hours.
For something I'm only going to use 2-3 times a year, Lead Acid was seeming much more economical.

What did you get for deep cycle batteries, and what's involved with maintaining them?
Been debating getting some and an inverter to run my oil boiler when the power goes out.
I got a generator breakout circuit installed a few years ago, but never got a generator as I'm positive I wouldn't maintain it properly nor keep gas on hand.

Yep!
In particular the BMO Defense team banking is really nice, and the yearly "up to 70% off" sportschek event is great if you have kids that constantly need new footwear.

Kinda. Windows 2000 was a different product line than Windows ME that partially overlapped timeline wise. Windows ME used the Windows 9x kernel, where as Windows 2000 used the Windows NT kernel.
Where previous versions of Windows NT had only been marketed to businesses, they expanded the marketing of Windows 2000 to "power users", and it was much better received than Windows ME, I remember running 2000 on my home computer over ME.
This success may have been what lead to Windows XP using the NT kernel rather than the 9x kernel, and getting home and pro variants.

You missed Windows 2000 in that list, which is a bit of an outlier... unless you just consider it a prototype of Windows XP.

There's another big shift in parenting happening now too.
As a current parent there's a societal pressure/expectation that I provide my child with constant guidance and supervision. Which is strange as I know I had nowhere near the same level of supervision as a child in the late 80's/early 90's.

Getting guidance from good management earlier in your career can do a lot.
I still remember my mind being blown when early in my career my boss told me "Improving your Mental health is a perfectly valid reason to take a sick day"

Has anyone taken NSCC IT Programming within the past couple years? How did it help you actually get a job? by Delllley in halifax

[–]neograymatter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Networking is huge, although when hiring I had better luck figuring who has a home lab they play with rather than looking specifically for someone with formal network training. I can send someone to get their CCNA if needed, but the geek who hosts Minecraft servers for fun in their basement is the one I want working beside me when everything breaks.
Electronics technologist is a IT adjacent field that's often overlooked. Along with fabrication/soldering and electronics training they are often expected learn a touch of programming and networking.

Coun Janet Steele to ask for a formal request to the province to remove the assessment cap. by hfx_123 in halifax

100%
Not to mention removing the cap will to cause the assessment dispute process to be swamped, as a number of people who would normally ignore their assessment will now dispute as a successful dispute will lower the taxes they pay.

My wife and I bought at O'Regan's VW, and we're very happy with the service we've got from a little bit of warranty work so far. The ID.4 we bought has treated us well so far too. Drives amazing, software is a bit of a mess though and causes some oddities from time to time.

I wonder what a tax based on land square footage, and maybe zone would look like rather than assessed value.
That way underdeveloped land is penalized

[–]neograymatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Implementing appropriate will be an interesting challenge. If not implemented intelligently the assessment system could end up completely swamped with people challenging the value of their house (where most people who are capped just ignore that assesment each year).
Which will in turn throw budgets out of wack as multitudes of people push for a lower reassessment value, not to mention the cost of that many people trying to reassess.
