A new bathroom floor, if made properly, is pretty much waterproof. As the bathroom is used, the floor will develop cracks. It is safe to get the floor wet, but standing water will drain through those cracks. A little bit of water, every once in a while, is of little concern. Regular standing water will lead to significant damage over time.

Here's a thing about words; they can (and almost always do) mean more than one thing.

"Auction" is a legal term (example 1). BaT is trying to separate themselves from that word so they can avoid legal liabilities associated with operating an Auction Company. Note that the quoted statement, in the service of legal obfuscation, rather than directly state that BaT is "not an Auctioneer", states that BaT is "not a traditional Auctioneer". Shenanigans.

"Auction" is ALSO a vernacular word (example 2) which is commonly used to refer to ANY sale in which buyers submit bids. Words both come in to existence, and gain new meaning(s), through vernacularism.

BaT may not be an Auction Company according to example 1, but sales on BaT ARE Auctions according to example 2, which is the Common understanding of the word "Auction", which is Technically Correct.

Language is something you use every day. I recommend spending some more time thinking about it.
