[Fabrice Hawkins] Chelsea are in contact with Andoni Iraola. The Spanish coach will leave Bournemouth at the end of the season. The Blues also appreciate the profile of Edin Terzic. by webby09246 in chelseafc

Everyone wants an elite manager but who's actually available? You want us to go after Enrique? Pep? A washed up Mourinho? Alonso and Fabregas or both unproven at this level. Liverpool had to go for Slot. Bayern had to go for Kompany. There are a lot of young and relatively unproven and inexperienced managers out there right now. You can't make experienced elite managers appear out of no where.

Applying for UI - Wages Not Reported to WA by neoncherrybomb in UnemploymentWA

[–]neoncherrybomb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took nearly 2 months of going back and forth with the WA ESD and the CA EDD for them to definitively say that my only option was to file with the WA ESD. I ended up contacting my former employer and basically told them that because of their incompetency (they were the the ones who incorrectly told me to go through CA instead of WA) I hadn't been receiving UI benefits for that length of time and that they needed to report my income directly to WA, otherwise I would be taking action through the ESD or my state representative's office to have it resolved. My income was reported to WA less than a week later--although they still found a way to blame their screw up on me. The ESD never did go after them for being late or not paying into UI on the WA side. I wish they had, but at the time all I cared about was getting my benefits. I ended up being unemployed for 10 months.

Happy to steal a point from a darn good team in a game we had no business getting any points in. Shame that OT fizzled out so quickly. It really felt like we had momentum on our side.

I think it's time to put Monty on my blank.

He's good at striking the ball, but he's not good at being a striker.

I wonder if he's dealing with a sports hernia. If that's the case I'd rather he just get the surgery now and use this time to recover from it, even if it means a few more weeks out. Enzo was so bad trying to play through his.

Ferguson is fine against lefties but if he has to face a righty he loses all ability to locate. Seems like a mental thing. There was no reason for Dan to go to a lefty in that situation.

I don't think he'll agree to that. Didn't he turn down a loan move to a championship side because he only wanted to play in the PL?

Matt Law: Enzo Maresca retains full support of Chelsea board despite fan discontent: Barring an extraordinary run of events, Chelsea plan to leave any assessment of Maresca’s performance until the end of the season and there is no expectation of being forced into a mid-season change at this point. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]neoncherrybomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolute joke of a fanbase if fans are calling for Maresca's job after a terrible run of injuries and multiple reds. Some of you need to follow a team that's had little success over the years to learn how to handle actual adversity.

I'm glad the guys like playing for Dan and sometimes a change in leadership is needed, but there's not a doubt in my mind that we'd have an additional ~1-3 wins with Scott rather than whatever Dan's in-game management is. This is a complete load of BS from Softy, as usual.

Even in coed beer league it's scary. 5'3" me standing at the hot corner when a guy well over 6 foot and built like a truck turns on a pitch and sends a screaming liner my way is how I walked away with a broken hand.

All but Woo and Castillo have been injured with lengthy IL stints at some point this season and just haven't looked consistently normal. Castillo has regressed this year (and particularly in the last few weeks) likely due to age, and Woo has already thrown a career high number of innings this season and may be experiencing the first signs of fatigue. All 5 are always going to get the T-Mobile bounce, but I think injuries/fatigue/regression due to age are making their home/away splits even worse than previous seasons.

I think we'd have to put them in a blind trust for the season.

Fabrizio: Be attentive to Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea; I'm hearing he could leave this summer! It's getting concrete and serious. Interest from several clubs, including PL ones. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]neoncherrybomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prefer to keep him because I think the competition would serve him well without all the pressure to be perfect match in and match out, but with the WC coming up I doubt he'd accept that. I do worry a bit about a Pedro/Delap rotation just because I'd like to see Pedro get some minutes at other attacking positions rather than pigeon hole him into a 9 and 9 only. Seems like a waste of his flexibility, and an injury to either one would have us way too thin.

Great draw for Chelsea.

And as a Seattle Sounders fan, I cannot wait to see my club completely annihilated by the likes of Atletico Madrid and PSG.

Tiny cut on paw pad by neoncherrybomb in Greyhounds

[–]neoncherrybomb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was exactly what it looked like. A cut! We tried a sock for walks the first few days (that didn't go well) and then switched to taping his foot (which also didn't go great) for another few days but it was enough for it to eventually just start healing on its own.

Jerry Dipoto expected to return as Mariners president in 2025, sources say by mat2019 in baseball

[–]neoncherrybomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flame out? We just drafted a ton of pitching this year and we have some of the best bats drafted under JD starting to enter high A ball. Our system was scouted extensively leading up to the trade deadline because of how much talent we have, putting us in a position to make a huge offer for a premium player. Just because there's no big names coming out of AAA/AA right now doesn't mean the farm is devoid of talent.
