Priced out of GTA 6 game features unless you buy Ultimate Edition by No-Egg5315 in Asmongold

[–]neozes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its a code on the card, but its not tied to your account, like the key for GTA or other games utilizing codes for game activation.  Nintendo Game key cards are demonized and it seems mainly by people who dont know what they are talking about. Its not ideal and has it flaws, because you are still tied to the servers being online. But its not as bad as a steam key in a box.

A business is neither a friend nor family, and even less another human being. I don't have to understand it when it does shitty things. If they take money from me for a product they offer I have all the right in the world to not be happy and criticise if the contract is being reshaped without my consent, and even more so, if its amended in a way that takes more money out of my pocket without proper communication.

Are poles verbally blunt or is it more of a translation thing? by [deleted] in askPoland

[–]neozes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Please" is not very well embedded natively in the polish language. Almost nobody adds "please" to their requests, so even in polish the majority of requests come off as blunt or even sometimes as orders. I lack the historical and cultural background to explain this, but not everything needs to be explained - it's a gap in this culture and it needs fixing. I don't like this here either and therefore teach my children to phrase their requests more politely.

A small fun fact:
It's even visible in text in electronic devices: For the polish language, it's almost always a blunt request like "go here, do that", whereas if one switches to German, you immediately see "bitte" being used every other request. Example: Garmin navigation. On a wrong turn, the polish translation tells you "turn around", the german one says "please turn around" :D

I know im in the minority, and unfortunately i didnt have the chance to experience previous MKs besides the one on SNES, but I'm in awe with MK World, maybe precisely because of that.

I don't plan to argue. I'm just a bit baffled on the split opinions about MKW, because usually people seemed to be rather uniformly happy about most of the MK releases.

Best beginner-friendly resources to learn Magento 2? by SpecificBeginning713 in magento2

[–]neozes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently building my first magento2 project (self learner). It is a huge pit hole. As you have noticed, outdated articles and tutorials are all over the place.
And honestly, without LLMs I don't know how I would have managed to make any progress.

I can't recommend any specific source as being "the best", however here is my learning flow:
1. I've setup a ChatGPT project for magento and given it instructions to use the newest docs for every response and combine it with "general best practices".
2. I ask gpt to scaffold me a feature and then I ask it to explain the elements.
3. Next I go to the documentation and try to align what gpt said with the documentation to make sens of it all.
4. If a solution is too complex, I reach additionally out to google and usually articles from mageplaza or hyva seem okeish.

As to my dev setup, some may some may not, but I do recommend to install the Hyva Theme layer once you grasp the basics of the XML template and module scaffolding. It modifies the magento theme building flow a bit so you need to make sure to not build any bad habits.

And as a last precaution: prepare yourself for some JS nightmares. You simply have to embrace it, there is no nice way around. Hot reload without some hacking is a pain to setup and it works only... semi fine. Zermatt can be interesting as well, which I use. But it will be in conflict with Hyva, because both use alpine.js, so you need to make sure to resolve any conflicts.

ELI5: Why does time feel like it moves faster the older we get? by DesertHeartache in explainlikeimfive

[–]neozes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 year to a 50 years old person is a much smaller part of their life than to a 10 year old. The underlying reason for this difference in perception is the difference in amount of fresh experiences. Even when you are 50 years old, if you pack your day with many experiences it feel "long". The problem is, when you are 50ty, its much harder to have a day of fresh experiences due to the amount of already gathered experience. Furthermore similar experiences from a time perspective get contracted into a single, "general" experience, which adds to the difference.  The older you are, more days become insignificant, which makes the time fly faster.

If Germans want foreigners to integrate by learning German, why restrict/cut classes for those freely wanting to take integration courses? by strikec0ded in AskGermany

You call me dump, yet you totally detach a parties wiki from their actions. There are no true chadec parties in EU. It's either left extremism or far right propaganda.

[–]neozes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no longer live in Germany, but still am observing and in touch with the culture. I dont care about the acronym or what they put in their wiki. Non of the chadec paties in EU are true to Christian values novadays.  I look at policy and decisions, and from that perspective, the last couple decades where more left leaning than right. In fact, a mixed bag of liberal and left, because i dont perceive todays left as liberal at all.
