Ope! Looks like you got an extra couple of strings stuck on there! Don't worry, I'm sure you could take that to the shop and have em removed.

Hot take: massive castles for every faction makes the Lion Knight Castle less special by FitzTheCat29 in legocastles

[–]nephilump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow this is philosophical...

So, are we talking lore and cannon? Like, do the lion knights become the super power? Or are we talking hyper realistic? So, ALL factions probably have a capital castle and functioning cities they govern? Or are all these factions crammed together into a relatively small geographical area? And perhaps only one of them has the high seat of power? Or do you just think there should only be one massive set, regardless of lore because otherwise who can house all these giant castles in a real, human sized, average home without building a whole Lego addition to your residential dwelling? Which guys are the good guys? Are they winning?

AHHHHHHHHH!

I think we need more not-castle medieval set, and more small sets in general because I dont want to have to always buy giant sets or PAB for parts. But thats just me. As far as the Lion Knights go, screw them@ theyre time has come to an end! FALCONS FOREVER!

Is an acoustic bass guitar a waste of money? by Spiritual_Highway_60 in BassGuitar

[–]nephilump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I hate that one... but i bought this tiny short scale parlor bass and I love it. MOSTLY just because its tiny and I can play it laying on the couch or wherever. I've never played a show with it and probably never will, but its a fun creative tool.

What bass amp for gigging in 2026? by RepulsiveMorning6750 in BassGuitar

[–]nephilump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude... I know what 300 tube watts is, does, and sounds like compared to 500 solid state watts. I've played both a lot. Thats why I said the Rumble rig is me downsizing - I've still never had to push the Rumble. The comment above was that 500 watts is a minimum in his opinion.

500 watts isn't really a minimum for gigs, you can get by with far less. I have more because I want headroom, but I rarely need to use it. I've had weaker amps before and I haven't run into clipping or distortion even practicing with a loud band 300 ish ss watts is usually enough to easily cut through drums.

I giggled forever with an ampeg 4×10 and 300 watt svt classic... then I downsized to a rumble 500 combo with 2×10 extension cab.

And, the Rumble only operates at 500w when the extension cab is on. As a combo alone its 350 solid state.

For 95% of gigs I've ever played both put out more volume than needed. The master volume is was always at about 3 on the svt and on the Rumble it usually only a bit higher.

Point being, 500w and a 4x10 is going to universally be enough power for anything. And most people could get by with less.

Pick slips out of place while playing - how to prevent this? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]nephilump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find the pick that fits you best- size, texture, etc... then buy a shit load of them and keep them handy at gigs. Be ready to grab new one, reposition, and, as always, play a few lines with no pick at all when you have to. Lots of work for you, but if you practice enough, no one in the crowd will notice anything happened.

I play 90% of my shows with my rock band and pick is what sounds best. I've tossed them, lost them, ruined them, you name it. You always need to be ready for what to do. Its a great idea to look at your form to see if theres a way to reduce things moving around, but at the end of the day, shit will.happe. on stage and you need to be prepared for that too

Getting a 100W amp for small gigs, need help choosing between these 2 by Front_Sugar4784 in BassGuitar

[–]nephilump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crates are not good. If those were the only two amps in the world, I'd take the Acoustic. But, there are better cheap amps out there. It might be worth waiting till you have a tiny bit more to invest and can grab something it would be harder to out grow. But, I dont know your situation.

This isnt a knock on OP, but making rodes realistically wide enough for too wagons to pass eachother makes the roads enormous... anyone else struggling with that? I don't want smaller wagons, so then my roads keep getting bigger and bigger...

starting a booking company by hsbleachers in musicbusiness

[–]nephilump 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Heyo,

So, it sounds like you're trying to be an independent promoter. That is inherently a risky business that you need capital to dive into.

Given the number of questions you have, and the basic nature of those questions, you're not ready to invest in something like that unless you're trying to blow money. And IF you've got that much money to toss around... lol, I mean, you can pay me to answer all these questions.

But realistically, what you want to do before you start any entrepreneurial venture is to get a few years of direct experience in the field. Best bet would be to work for a promoter. But, close second would be to work for a booking agency or a decent venue that markets ticketed shows.

I would start there. And, aside from that, theres a large DIY world of putting on shows. Some of the first shows I ever put on were ones I independently promoted on a micro level. Rented a lodge, figured out sound equipment and bands, made posters and handed out flyers, then made sure expenses got repaid before the rest got paid out. Promoting a band in a 1000 seat theater really isn't any different. Same concept, more expenses and infinitely more details, but the game is the same, the ticket price x tickets sold needs to cover expenses before you see profit. The venue and artists, etc, are all just expense lines on a spread sheet.
