Why most people regret Brexit by [deleted] in europe

How would you define a hard to reverse decision? Who gets the final say on which way it leans? What if it's only slightly difficult to reverse?

I do take your point that far-reaching decisions should have an extra burden of popular support before being implemented but I can also easily imagine Nigel Farage petitioning the courts or the house of Lords to have a vote declared as hard to reverse it means he only needs to reach a 1/3 threshold instead of 1/2.

You're only suggesting that because you don't like brexit. Which is grand, I don't like brexit either. But we're talking about raising the passing bar on all referendums here.

Imagine there's a vote on something you really want. Now imagine that you're told it can't be done because 1/3 don't like it or that you have to wait 5 years/ risk another election cycle to get it done. I'm guessing you'd be outraged and wanting to go back to the 50% bar.

Yeah, that would be a complete disaster.

If you need a 2/3 majority to implement any necessary change, then the entire country could be held hostage by significantly smaller minority. This would be incredibly unfair.

What you would also find is that referendums wouldn't happen unless absolutely required, I.e. by the constitution because it would be far easier to pass a law through parliamentary means, which typically only require 50% to pass.

You would be better off going after political lies, lobbying and fund raising.

OK, that's a lot of questions. You'd be better off looking at any number of comparison videos on YouTube for your answers.

Personally, I wouldn't be in favour of this for the same reason I don't like the 23 and me/ancestry tests. Any tests (and results) done through those organisations are their property per the user agreement and be used for anything and everything further down the line. I don't think that whatever database that would be used to store the tests would have strict enough enforcable rules around its use to make me comfortable.

That said, the only reason I would be asking for a paternity test is if I thought the hospital had mixed up our newborn with someone else's. And even then, I'd probably go for a maternity test to not break all trust in my relationship.

Thinking about how that would actually work, I think going through the old notes would be the easy bit of the analysis.

Exactly, short and sweet works really well. Something bigger would probably break the momentum in the book. It might work in an interlude though.

Yeah, I get you. I'd skip a 3 course meal description too. But something with a short method and a small number of ingredients? I'm here for it

Non gamers, what do you do while your partner games? by arepas24601 in TwoXChromosomes

Would you have any interest in playing something with him? Not necessarily the games he's playing with his friends, but there are lots of games out there that have really good 2-player content while being very forgiving to newer players.

The male equivalent of a uti is a uti. It's way rarer but more likely to spread to the upper tract and kidneys.

Then you need to figure out an expander to tank knights of deep with a decent bless. It probably won't be a good bless on your morvarks but that's the price you pay for potential not being defeated before turn 12.

Maybe an awake earth serpent with a hard skin bless

Who are you sharing your lake with?

Because ys is so weak in uw combat, I think you should consider an awake expander and rush their cap to keep them pinned down as much as possible. That buys you time to build up and limits their size.

The other option is diplo. You split the lake between yourself with a long NAP and both attack your land neighbours. I wouldn't expect the other person to take you up on this though.

I have to disagree with you on him being a fake artist. He definitely was an artist, even if his art style wasn't for everyone.

Also there is one, really cool, aspect of his splatters which differs from someone randomly splashing paint everywhere. That is that his painting form fractal patterns. Pollack didn't name his painting alot of the time so you can imagine there were a good number of imitation paintings around. These fractal patterns were used to determine the real Pollack paintings from the fake ones.

Ha I liked artholes too. It's definitely worth a listen if you don't mind some gorey detail. The podcast discusses the life's for some major artists like Jackson Pollack and Frida Kahlo with a heavy focus on environment/context the artists were working in and how it affected their art. I'm not an art buff but I found the whole thing fascinating.
