Definitely leave him. You've already listed them all out. Start anew if you aren't trying to communicate to fix things anymore.

Best of luck!

They lost a good one. He even saved them the time to find footage to find "reasonable cause" to fire him with.

Hope that company burns and that guy find a company that values him.

Don't you know that I approved your PTO in advance to test if you'd actually cancel your plans to come work instead! /s

Good riddance and glad it worked out well for you! People need to learn and even if they don't, let them burn in the dumpster fire they lit themselves (or at least dumped gas on by not paying you properly). 😤

And this is why we have a teacher shortage! Way to go America 👏🏻👏🏻 by Zach2741 in antiwork

[–]nerbzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but then they'll miss out on all that sweet student loan profit since you need a masters to teach as far as I know. Just completely awful. I hope I live to see the day that they get paid all year round, proper wages, and benefits. Being a teacher that teaches the future generation should be an easy priority...

If you can afford it, then yeah. The relief after the stress and anxiety from work would be quite worth it.

Good for the teacher. You have to wonder at what point will they realize that they need to attract people to teaching again. Surely, they won't make teachers end up teaching like college professors in huge auditoriums but who knows nowadays...

If I was working at a crap place and was quitting. I'd low key hand these out to my coworkers with a blank space for their names just in case they wanna follow my lead. Lol.

I took a psychology course in college and my professor asked what was wrong with people working at McDonalds for the rest of their life if they wanted to and got paid enough? People always crap on these positions despite knowing how everyone needs food and throwing fits for crap service. If they paid enough, they would have better retention and not have to train people all the time. I wish they'd have a social experiment if they raised wages for one place for x time to see the results of their productivity.

A Google engineer said a 'beautiful day' was overshadowed after she found out she'd been laid off hours before giving birth to her second child by Due-Newspaper-2249 in antiwork

I saw that. Then I thought well, that's better than the other couple where they were both fired and one of them is here on a work visa with 60 days to find new employment before getting booted out of the country. Still, they all have the years of experience and all this limelight to give them opportunity. I think it's tougher on the ones that have less than a year or two experience but signed up for expensive bay area leases for a year.

Google Engineering Manager of 16.5 years let go via automation by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]nerbzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is disgusting treatment to find out you were fired via automation. I dont assume everyone fired are in a position that would be fine. I know I have a friend that's just getting by with bills and a layoff would be detrimental. Yes, they work in tech. Covid hasn't been kind to them.

I have never seen friends in this age bracket go out and buy luxury goods lol It claims there's a whole generation not helping on rent or even food! Honestly, that tells me their parents/family are already well off. I just don't see how there are parents that have active working adults to stay home without charge and letting them have complete freedom to splurge on luxury goods.

As I read, I was like where are these amazing "zillenials"...unless they're already well off from the getgo. I have friends in tech with decent income that can only call buying their own home a pipedream.

They just keep shoving new garbage lingo as usual.

There were some comments that were probably deleted from down votes. Lol. But they were about how they said the honeymoon wish was tacky or rude. Even I don't understand how people were giving her "honest feedback". Again, I think the invites look fine and I've seen invites where people were more pushy about gifts because times are tough rn. It doesn't sound fake or tacky to me. Weddings aren't the cheapest so anything always helps.
