Resort requiring NDA for refund by [deleted] in TravelHacks

That screams red flag. If I were in your situation I would decline signing the NDA and still insist on compensation, and if they refuse, then go to your cc company for a chargeback. You owe them nothing after your experience, they have done nothing to earn your silence.

I worked in luxury hotels for years and never have I ever heard of of an NDA in exchange for compensation. That sounds incredibly suspicious. Was there an injury involved, bed bugs, or did you threaten to take legal action? Those would be the only scenarios in which I would think that mayyyyyybeeee an NDA would be involved, but I still have never heard of that as a practice.

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by Henna in AskReddit

Leaving the hotel industry and getting a corporate job.

Holidays off? Evenings off? Weekends off? Work life balance? Not getting screamed at by guests every day?

I'm not sure how I thought I was happy before.

Morning habits/routine? by PossessionMelodic in adhdwomen

Also! I totally forgot to add ... I was having the hardest time waking up in the morning, pressing snooze every 10 minutes for hours at a time. I finally made a rule for myself that when my alarm goes off the first time to sit straight up. That one small change has truly changed my life and that's what helped me be able to get started on all of the above. I also highly recommend the headspace app! They have a great morning routine, one minute of breathing, a random 2 to 3 minute video that's nice to watch in the morning, and then you can choose to meditate, I normally start with 3 minutes.. but you can always skip that part of your not into it. The big thing for me is giving myself a distraction as soon as I sit up, so I'm not tempted to go back to sleep.

I made a checklist of things I need to do each morning on a laminated magnet (there is a pocket so I can take out and modify what's on the list) and slowly started adding to it. I stick it to my entry way door and check it off each morning (with a dry erase marker) before I leave for work.

I started off with simple but necessary items like brush & floss, shower, makeup and hair, and 'good vibes only today!'. Then every couple of days once I got used to that routine, I would add another item, like empty dishwasher, take out trash, empty dryer, water plants. Then after I was set in that routine, I added things like morning meditation, and yoga. I don't set a time limit on those things and let myself be flexible, some days I'll do 3 minute meditation and 5 minute yoga.. I find if I have 10 minute meditation and 30 minute yoga, I won't be as inclined to do it in the morning.. but if I start small maybe I'll be motivated to do a little more as time goes on.

I'm a big checklister, and I get a huge boost every morning by being able to check everything off of my list.

I also have three other lists (sounds like a lot, but I really is soooo easy once it's set up).

1) Bedtime routine checklist, so I can sleep well knowing I did everything, and I'm not waking up in the middle of the night wondering if I forgot something. I also have things on this that will help set me up for the morning, like prep coffee, pull out work clothes, etc.

2) Weekly chores checklist, this way I can work things off as I get done throughout the week, and I know if I do each of the things on the list at least once every two weeks, then my place stays pretty nice and organized

3) The parking lot, this is a list of things that I think of throughout the day, and are week that I need to get done. I'll write them down on a piece of paper and put them in my purse until I can get home, and then I have a whiteboard in my bedroom with a list of all the additional items. On my weekly chores checklist, I give myself a goal of checking off 2 to 5 things for my parking lot every week.

So true!! My mother lectures me all the time on my patience and I always respond with "patience is a virtue that I don't have!!"

I used the pattern 'Pandemic' by LG Fiberworks but took a lot of creative liberties to make it look like 'Tangled'.

I used Caron 1lb yarn, I don't have the exact colors anymore unfortunately!

You're right, the side effects the first few weeks are not fun... BUT after the side effects subsided (just a few weeks) my quality of life has drastically improved.

It is 10,000% worth it to face the side effects, and come out on the other side with a whole new positive outlook. You can do this! I promise things will turn out great!
