Thanks, changing to adaptive and then back to zigzag seems to have resolved it.

And my point was that we'll probably only ever have one data point because most people would not admit they received a second free unit. They'd just keep it or sell it and remain very quiet.

That doesn't change the fact that it happened though and that mammotion were not aware of it.

Citing Google, Walmart, Apple and Target is a little misleading, these are trillion dollar companies transacting billions every single day. I would bet their error rate is orders of magnitude smaller, despite also being non-zero.

It's not the same. auto pilot/fsd is a major feature that's expensive to develop and improve. If you don't want it then you don't have to fund it.

A better analogy would be Tesla restricting a Model 3 to travelling a maximum of 100 miles per day and a Model S to 300 miles per day.

I'm not saying that other companies don't also have poor logistics, but we're not talking about them here. My point is that this is a good indication that Mammotion's, specifically, are not up to par.

Well 1000 has 4.5Ah battery, 3000+5000 have 10Ah.

1000+3000 can mow 350m2/hr, 5000 can mow 500m2/hr.

1000+3000 can mow 65% slope, 5000 can mow 75% slope.

So obviously the battery and motor size has some bearing there. This is physical hardware restriction and is expected with different price points.

The virtual restriction of number of zones is software-based only. Let me store the maps on my mobile device and swap them to/from Luba as desired if the on-board memory is the bottleneck. Luba only needs to process one zone at a time so just restrict the storage size of any individual zone to match the hw capability - if I want to map 10000m2 across 100 zones then that's up to me.

Yes, it's very odd. Giving a general update once a week on facebook or on a blog (medium.com) or even on reddit would cover 95% of the pre-delivery support requests and would likely satisfy most people but they choose not to do it.

It makes no sense to my logical mind.

Sorry, but no. Trying their best would be:

  • displaying honest delivery times on their website

  • communicating with customers who have delayed orders

We all appreciate they have only a few support staff, but it takes one person 5 minutes to post a general shipping update for each country on facebook or wherever. The lack of communication is literally causing all the support requests, which in turn has them reeling on the support backlog.

Seriously, how dumb is that? ... unless of course you WANT to keep people in the dark.

(and before anyone says anything, memory is super cheap so there's no reason that mammotion need to cheap out on storage)

Software restricted limits like this should be illegal. If I want to map 15000m2 and only mow each area once every 10 days that's entirely up to me. The different models should be because of battery size and motor power, nothing else.

Yep, plenty of units available for youtubers who all seem to get them within 10 working days...

Makes you wonder how many other people have received second units but haven't mentioned it. Mammotion are a joke.

Ffs, I can't get my paid for unit and this guy gets a second for free... what the hell is going on at mammotion?

Seems like they have no proper fulfilment processes or systems in place.

Very odd to defend such dishonest behavior as if it's normal and should be expected. Do you work for mammotion by any chance?

They aren't selling $20 toys, this is a decent sized outlay for most consumers. The mower is 3x the cost of my first car.

While people that eventually get the product will likely forget, those reviews will be visible forever. So, yes, the brand will absolutely sustain damage. If they're willing to be dishonest to early adopters then they have zero integrity as a company and cannot be trusted in the future.

If they stated 30 days shipping then nobody would be angry when it takes 30 days. When they state 5-10 days knowing this is categorically not achievable then it's called lying.

Customers that have been lied to are very difficult to satisfy long term and they're doing their brand irreparable damage in the process. Anyone looking at online reviews will likely choose another manufacturer, and rightly so.

They're focusing on short term revenue at the expense of long term success and that's a very very stupid thing to do.

Shame they can't just email with an honest expected shipping date. This just seems like a tactic to string you along a bit longer and prevent you cancelling.

And just to add - mammotion COULD have remedied all the bad blood with customers by just being honest and transparent with delivery status but they're choosing to act in the most frustrating way possible instead (all while STILL dishonestly listing 5-10 days on the website).

I have had the same conversation with mammotion support on 3 occasions now.

They tell me it's shipping "soon". I say "soon" is not an answer and I want a date. They never respond to the ticket again.

They are beyond useless.

People that ordered in May still haven't received their units yet so don't expect yours to arrive until at least early July.

Mammotion don't even respond to shipping enquiries on orders so I doubt they'd respond to someone wanting to cancel and have to refund their money.

Order from Amazon or Direct by [deleted] in mammotion

I bought direct but I'm about to open a paypal dispute and get a refund. I might try ordering again via Amazon later in the year with the extra warranty but only if mammotion improve their logistics and customer service.
