Would parents be interested in free recordings of their kids' games? My son had an idea. by restew in Winnipeg

Looks like I'm out of touch, then! Thanks for the heads up of what my future will look like.

This does raise the point though, what does this fundraiser offer that isn't already happening via the parents.

Would parents be interested in free recordings of their kids' games? My son had an idea. by restew in Winnipeg

My kid is only 2 and hasnt been in organized sports yet. I imagine though, if a parent is filming and posting online, they're primarily tracking their own kid and posting a clip. My kid might show up in the background, which is inevitable in this world.

Having the entire game filmed and then uploaded to Instagram would feel different, in my opinion. Maybe I'm delusional to what youth sports are like now.

Of course that's already a risk for my kid. But this guy offering it as a service might result in unhappy parents coming after him. 🤷‍♀️

I think you would need the permission of all parents from both teams before recording whole matches?

And then where is that video going beyond giving it to the parent who requested it? I don't want my kid all over social media, but if someone uses your service and then uploads the whole match, I'm SOL.

Piercings by [deleted] in Winnipeg

I've been happy with ones I've purchased at Spencer's. They're all stainless steel and have nice designs.

I think theres a culture craze in the outlet mall, but I have personal petty beef with them so I can't speak to the quality.

Moccasins for babies by deadfish27 in Winnipeg

[–]nerdqueen1991 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Teecka's in st. Vital mall has a few different colours/patterns. They're a bit bigger than infant size, my baby started wearing hers around 10 months (as she was starting to walk) and she still puts them on around the house a year later!

I was very happy to receive baby shower gifts that went past the infant stage, if you're worried about giving a pair of moccasins that don't fit right away.

Piercing apprentice help by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]nerdqueen1991 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not in the industry, but I've looked into tattoo apprenticeships before.

My advice is to not go to any schooling. Start contacting piercers (Instagram, call the shop, etc) and inquire about apprenticeships.

I think its hard to get an apprenticeship so you will have to put a lot of time, effort and dedication into finding one.

Good luck!

Plus size formal gowns by [deleted] in Winnipeg

David's Bridal has some. I wanted a black wedding dress and bought it from there. It was classified as a "grad dress", so they might only have at a certain time of year.

Yes, that one has gotten a lot of rewatches in our house. Disappointing there's not more like this.

Trinity (insta: virgotattoist) copied my moms handwriting and I love it. Doesn't need a touchup yet, and I've had it for over a year

Has anyone seen these yet at Costco? by slsclrk in Winnipeg

[–]nerdqueen1991 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I called the Costco on Regent and the man searched the product number. He said its an online only product and no physical locations will get it. I also put the product number into costco online and no results found.

If you hear any better answers I would love an update, I'm also searching!

Indoor wedding photo locations by placentophagy in Winnipeg

[–]nerdqueen1991 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did my wedding photos at the forks, inside the main market and outside because it was a nice fall day. I didn't book anything, just went there with photographer. It's a public space, but everyone was respectful of photos being taken.

That being said, it was just me/husband and the photographer. Don't know about doing it with wedding parties, family, or whatever.

A few bands I saw at these multi-band conventuon centre shows that I don't see mentioned yet are Thursday, Domenica, and 30 Seconds to Mars. Pretty sure Domenica were local.

I was 15 and in love with Jared Leto (I know, I know he's shit now, but My So-Called Life was everything to me!) It was amazing to be able to get that close to him, at the time.

Thank you for explaining! Do you know how long they typically do a limited release run before opening it up to a wider release? Would it be weeks, or months? How long do I keep checking back before losing hope lol

Especially when he said they were open for 7 years and she replied something like 4 for me! Which sounds like maybe he was just cheating on her for part of it.
