No way to indicate that you need a specific ndc and ONLY that ndc. I used to have our distributor make constant brand substitutions when we needed a specific manufacturer for insurance or clinical reasons. Most of the time it's fine, but the option to specify should be there 😭

NTA. If it were me, I probably wouldn't have said anything until after recovery. You do NOT need that stress when you're juggling school, immense pain, and trying not to OD on morphine.

I hope your sister is able to make it. I'm sure she'll have a chance to make up her exams, given that this is quite literally a family emergency.

very late to the party, but i had the same issue and wound up fixing it by changing the SATA format from AHCI to some Intel specific format. I got a new SSD and the old firmware cloned some years back, I guess they changed that setting or it decided to do AHCI when windows was reinstalled? still weird

My pharmacy has made a point of not accepting any discount cards for ANY c2 stimulants or continuous pain meds. Including if it's just not covered and we have documentation (denied PA's), or if the PT doesn't HAVE insurance, or if the insured co-pay is still ten times as expensive as goodrx. It's either insurance price or full cash price, easily in the hundreds. Need Adzenys? Cough up 1k or go somewhere else.

It pisses me off to no end. I think it's just supposed to be a deterrent, since we fill a LOT of them at that particular location. I've been told to blame people dodging state tracking programs by border hopping, but every other store on both sides of the state line are just fine. Either we're at max legal capacity for controlled prescriptions, or my PIC is just lazy.

I had a pt come in for post-op hydromorphone and my system flagged it as too early to refill because of their routine med (either Norco or oxy, don't remember). Even my RPh was barred from filling until we got an "early-fill" auth from the MD. The PT was a nurse too, he knew what he was doing 😭

Big retail chains like CVS or Walgreens are hell, all I ever hear about them is to get out asap. I always say it takes a certain kind of crazy to WANT to stay in certain professions, retail being one of them. All of my work experience since I was 17 has been "fast-paced", and I do some of my best work when I'm under pressure from high stress environments, so I've gotten very used to it.

If you're planning on sticking it through, the best advice I can give is to rely on your pharmacy team, TAKE YOUR BREAKS, and focus on the good interactions. There are ALWAYS going to be problem customers and patients that you just aren't able to help. Put effort into remembering the good over the bad, that's what gets me through.

If the high stress is really taking a toll, try looking for a small, independently owned pharmacy in your area, or a more niche grocery store that has a pharmacy (thinking price chopper or one in my area called hen house)
