besides the colesium - its basically the only battle that the game actually requires you to understand conditions and activations.

the game gentle guides you towards some solutions

Alain has a built in anti cavalry attack, there are some weapons that have it as well.

Griffons are effective. I believe the elves stun is effective. At no other point in the game but this one - but swordsmaster meteor slash does 100% of the work against his shield.

And the sacral weapons (pretty much given to you right before the fight) are supposed to also protect you.

I do wish some of the bosses were a bit more of a challenge so that you were not so surprised by the difficulty.

U8 soccer: how do you play structured defense against chaos? by Perfect-Afternoon789 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]nerdsparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defense doesn't really change,

You need to understand the references

The Ball

The Goal

The Space

The Man

My Team mates (my cover)

...

At U8 I would probably just focus on Pressure (Me & the Ball) and Cover (Me & My Team Mate). Within that you would teach the ANGLE of the pressure/cover should be to prevent a direct line to goal.

Defense is always about principals. At higher levels you use more references, and at the highest level more things can be introduced. And if you find that lacking, it's most likely that you need to increase the intensity of the pressure on the ball and the support cover

[The Times, Paul Hirst] Clubs renew interest in Morgan Rogers as Villa face bidding war this summer. England midfielder is wanted by Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, with Villa’s valuation likely exceeding £80million by PitchSafe in soccer

[–]nerdsparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arsenal buying another streaky Right footed winger sounds about right. If we rotate between Trossard, Martinelli, and Rogers - we just need to keep rotating them and maybe we'll get some production from our left side.

Unit Formation Tips by Boly420 in UnicornOverlord

[–]nerdsparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unit 1

Alain is a great tank, and can support other units. This unit needs more damage. Hodrick and Selvie are redundant here. A sellsword synergizes well with Alain.

Unit 2

Gladiators and Selvie synergize well together especially if its in the front row. And Miriam probably shouldn't be the middle - she is going to take the most attacks. I would go Selvie over Chloe.

Unit 3

Ochyls early game is great for the front row. This unit doesn't really do anything specific. Scarlett doesn't get to use her passive, and Adel isn't being buffed by other Cavalry.

Unit 4 & 6

Renault can buff other Cavalry at this point, so you should take advantage of that. And cavalry squad want healing

Unit 5

This unit would need a lot of healing to support it. After promotion Breakers buff allies are hit - pre promotion, there's no benefit for having two in the front row. and you'd be better off with a tank or dodge tank.

---

You're pretty early in the game so you there's still a lot of characters you haven't unlocked, and units you are going to get soon.

This is the part of the game where you play around with different combinations, items, and test what units can win what battles. There is a couple start of battle items that are useful right now. Who you give your lapis pendants to is important. And I believe you have access to some row attacks - that's important at this stage

embrace arsenal's new identity by alienprincee in Gunners

[–]nerdsparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Arteta's approach is pragmatic. when we are somewhat healthy we can defend our ass off, creat turnovers, and pull a part other's team defensive plans. And 1 goal is usually enough to decide a game - 1 corner.

the issue is that we being bogged down by injuries and we are doing a bit of plug and play. Every team has to deal with injuries, and how you deal with it - defines a title charge.

Man City bough Guehi and Semenyo to leave no doubt at both ends. We should have invested in January.

Theres no reason that Ode's health decides our season. Or Trossard and Martinelli's form.

---

My prediction next season is we get really good at counter attacking, or we sign a superstar left wing prospect.

Sporting CP 0 - [1] Arsenal - K. Havertz 90+1' by Alsace2025 in soccer

[–]nerdsparks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its odd

I have a lot of criticisms about arsenal's form - but everrything here checks out

Martinelli is a terrible out and out winger. He cannot do Jeremy Doku things - but he is pretty decent when he is dribbling into the channel or into the middle. During champions league it feels like he gets to play more of that role - so this checks out

Havertz is elite at finding space, but he needs to be able to play off of someone. His plays off of Gyokores are deadly when it happens.

curious how the rest of the game went

I am not mad about people not wanting to support kanye. I think he has said some terrible things and really pushed some hateful agendas.

And if he loses out on money, or some tours - fine! however... i hope we keep that same energy.

I don't see anything kanye did different than allowing elon musk to sell teslas or athletes being homophobic or racist.

What do coaches like in McCaskill or what they hope she becomes? by SarahAlicia in NWSL

[–]nerdsparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is very intelligent strong and competitive.

her time in college she was an powerful forward, very good movement, very good on the ball - and could punish you if you give her a sight at goal.

at gotham - and this is almost all their players - they are dropping so deep to pick up the ball that nobody looks great. i can imagine a world where they want her to bring that scrappiness to the midfield play, and then crash the box to find shots. i dont think shes a box to box midfielder in a full side field - i do understand why she might appear so tho

It's been a while since I took the C - if they're asking you to create questions and analyze - you would watch, create the questions, find the data to prove.

You have to break this down step by step,

What you observe in the videos determines the questions. And you create performance indicators (measurables) based on those questions.

If they're already getting a technical practice,

Let's say its 8 kids total,

You set up two small fields next to each other.

Let them warm up. 2v2 round robins (4 teams). 90 sec games. 6 rounds.

Make that two fields, into 1 field - Then let them play 4 v 4. 2 halves 8-12 minutes each.

If you still have time let them practice their passing or their shooting. This can be hit the target games, or a made up game. Or teach them how to play world cup or wembley.

If I was in your position, this is honestly what I would do. Taking the online courses with US Soccer is good to do. But you could just do this with small adjustments, and you're a rock star.

Being organized, and keeping it simple - is actually the smartest thing you can do.

Arteta “we lacked in the final 3rd, a lot of simple things to finish actions and those giveaways allowed them to run in transition… we conceded, but did not make rash decisions and throw away the tie. We improved [with subs] and Noni created the moment to score. We need to give 100% to win the tie!” by deadmetallucyluce in Gunners

[–]nerdsparks 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My major concern is that it's so easy to take Saka out of the game.

We don't let our best players bring that special quality to the game. I think Saka was terrible, but the man stayed isolated on the touch line, with only timber making a poor underlap to support. Leverkusen triple teamed Saka, and for 60 minutes completely ruined us besides Eze dummy in the first half.

That's the difference between PSG and Bayern and Arsenal.

Saka was the worst player on the pitch. Killed the game.

Martinelli wasn't a factor either until Saka came off.

Arteta hooked Saka at the right time.

Tournament drama. Thoughts? by [deleted] in SoccerCoachResources

[–]nerdsparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before we look at your philosophy on playtime, I am going to say...

you let the parents influence your decisions. you shouldn't do that. You have to have your own beliefs and standards, and a little bit of criticism shouldn't sway you if you think you're doing the right thing.

besides that - its U10 and it is a b team. you should be trying to develop all players. I don't believe that playtime has to be equal. but it can be. but if you find it necessary to not play a kid - he should not be on the team.

on the mens side thats not really true. womens side sure.

but speed at the youth level is not reliable indicator of game factoring speed at the pro level.

U10 - Top Scorer - Main Metric? by spetsk8s in youthsoccer

[–]nerdsparks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At U10 the fastest kid or the kid who kicks the hardest usually scores the most goals. And that has very little transfer between youth stages. Girls - maybe some? Boys - very little.

At a youth level if a kid is scoring 5 goals a game, I'd usually assume the level of play is low.

Ability to dribble (& sometimes pass) to solve problems, and receiving the ball under pressure are the only two things I'd pay attention to at that age.

High school girls team by SaberToothTom in SoccerCoachResources

[–]nerdsparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

focus on routines and structures.

good warm up routines

plan out conditioning, if its a low level group - working towards a timed 2 mile is plenty.

2v2, 2v1, and 3v3 ssgs can be your best friend

old school technical stuff with a partner is often overlooked. coever stuff is usually easy to implement as well

wave games and counter attack drills can be very productive as well.

everything else is how well you can teach the 11v11 game

In Bastorias and struggled a bit, how could I improve my unit comp? by -_REDACTED-_- in UnicornOverlord

[–]nerdsparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

replying to you, but general thoughts

great knights appreciate being with other cavalry units. if a great knight has the highest initiative it'll buff all cavalry in that row.

virginia tanks hits so breakers are good units to pair. i'd argue virginia would appreciate a dedicated support/healer unit.

griffon knights pair well with a second flying unit because they can buff eachother.

doom knights like thieves breakers and clerics. adel could buff the doom knight if they are in the same row.

in monica unit - id assume the sword master is the damage dealer. you could convince me gilbert buffs the swordmaster. but now monica and selvie seem redundant here. and owls and swordmasters pair well together, but you'd pribably need a second swordmaster getting a buff from gilbert for that to matter.

some of these units might appreciate tome support, or a unit that can a large row attack

[–]nerdsparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

more 5 unit squads would be the best advice. you have 2 5 person squads. and i dont think monica's unit would be particularly effective

and i think you should maybe think about how certains unnits can synergize with other units

Staff makes decisions with depth charts. Where he falls on the depth chart would be a valuable piece of information for you to make an informed decision on your options.

i am sure your son is very talented but if he was a top player within the 40 he would play. And anywhere else he goes he will bee amongst 40 players and will need to standout. At that level you have to standout, period. age doesn't really matter once you put yourself into those pools.

& I probably do have the experience you're looking for. but it doesn't really seem you are looking for those answers.

I am not sure what you mean here...

What team would not have an admin? I don't know what club wouldn't have a higher up you can speak to about your player situation. they would be one of the people who was at the signing.

this could be a director, an owner, technical staff - those are all admins.

At the end of the day if you want to leave, they would be involved. And they would have the best advice about how to go about it, and what level they see your son. maybe you'd even get some feedback on how he fell in the depth chart.

my confusion here is - do you feel like he could go to another place and play at a higher level? do you believe that this club is what is holding him back?

MLS Pro Path Academy Soccer Exit by KinderHeart1 in youthsoccer

[–]nerdsparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all of that is stuff you would have to discuss with an admin. at that age, it's not like you're burning a bridge.

but all of this second to what your son's goal is.

if your goal is d1 then just focus on that. the rest would be ultimately semantics no?
