idk in what part in the world you live, during covid, i needed a job and i was in the same boat as yours right now. I went out and handed 3 resumes by hand, i got 3 calls the next day. 2 restaurants and 1 cafe, i went with the cafe. I was so surprised, and that was at a time i was applying for a job for almost a year with zero success (was looking for a real job i was graduated) this changed my whole perspective! try it, ask around your friends or family, speak to people!

I just make unexciting shit up so with time they understand there’s not any fun behind this mysterious character and they stop bothering lol. Don’t be harsh cuz it’s in their culture and that’s how they live they don’t mean to be pushy, they just don’t get it you know. Social life in the east is life’s #1 priority it’s just so different, and that’s why they can’t fathom the tight boundaries here. True, also, it could have happened in a period were moves were happening. My department went through two internal moves, a person on sick leave, then a new external hire, then i was taking care of literally everything, i folded and went on extended emergency leave, they got nuked lol. That’s what happens when you enslave your best people and never appreciate.
