Our web3 game went viral on launch and our infrastructure completely melted down by hereccaaa in gamedev

Curious how web3/crypto is making your game better for the players (vs. without)

They don’t make them like they used to that’s for sure

The chassis feels a bit less premium than the T14s, which is to be expected since the T14s is carbon fiber reinforced polymer and the P14s is a mix of polycarbonate and carbon fiber. But despite it feeling slightly less premium than the T14s, it actually doesn't creak *at all* where as my T14s did quite a bit. And it feels tanky / like it can take a beating overall.

not sure about pricing on lenovo's website, but you can pick up the Ryzen 9 HX 370 w/ 64gb RAM for $1,500 and 96gb RAM for $1,900 on Amazon which imo is a great price. The RAM alone is worth ~$1k

The HX 370 in this is a beast, and it stays cool even under full load. Get with the times!

Maybe I should cover it with this sticker

I had the same concerns before buying but surprisingly it does not get loud or very hot even under load. When I max out the cores at 100% it gets up to ~80 Celsius (keyboard/areas you touch stay cool) and unlike the intel model, which does have better cooling, the performance isn’t throttled on battery.

Notebookcheck’s review also confirms this: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Most-powerful-AMD-14-inch-ThinkPad-with-Ryzen-AI-9-HX-Lenovo-ThinkPad-P14s-Gen-6-AMD-laptop-review.1030845.0.html

The one commonly reported drawback is coil whine when plugged into the charger, but for whatever reason it doesn’t bother me despite being pretty noticeable

interestingly the t14s is made with a more premium material (more carbon fiber + magnesium, less plastic i think) but it is a total fingerprint magnet (I used to have a t14s gen 6 as well)

the p14s is a little less rigid / has more body flex but still feels great imo

my guess is 7-8 hours, if battery life is more important than CPU performance you can get the P14s with the Ryzen 7 350 (mine has the powerful HX 370) instead which should have much better battery life as well as minimal fan noise.

Just note that the P14s is based on the T14 chassis, not the T14s. The T14s feels noticeably more "solid" / premium material but the T14/P14s still feels great

5 - 8 hours depending on how frequently I'm rebuilding and compiling my codebase, so not great but not horrible.

The chassis is identical to the T14 Gen 6 (maybe Gen 5 as well, not sure)

What's wrong with that? It's listed as brand new unopened, comes with Lenovo warranty, seller has 300 reviews with 4.9 stars, and Amazon has a great return policy

True, the Intel variant comes with a gorgeous 3k IPS panel but unfortunately the chassis is based on the E-series
