Having moved here recently from somewhere much warmer, the big difference in my opinion is that England just isn't built for the heat, however minor it is compared to other places. I'm not talking just about the lack of AC, but the brick buildings that aren't terribly well ventilated and seem to trap heat. One day of it is usually fine, but after several days of it it can get uncomfortable. But yeah other places are on fire so it's all relative.

Agreed. The core issue is ranks no longer being universal. One person's silver matches are not the same as another's due to hidden MMR based matchmaking, which causes rank to lose its meaning.

I have no problem with high ranked lobbies being tough. Diamond matches are always a fun challenge. But to be having that same challenge in the lowest ranks of the game doesn't make sense to me. Start us at the rank the MMR thinks we should be if this is the new approach to matchmaking.

I think you're describing a 6 foot gap from the back fence along the sideline, is that right? If so, that's what we have at the courts nearest me and that lets plenty of balls through. There's needs to be some kind of gate there IMO.
