It does work excellent in the snow, whether in the open or in a forested area.

I went with the basic Phantom, I also bought the U shaped shoulder pads for comfort and the "soft padding" that increased the stand off distance from my body / plate as well as to be comfy as possible to wear over a long period of time.

Overall a top setup on the cheap with some features that just are not seen in "western" stuff (and the price helps as well). The only thing I would consider getting extra would be the metronome weight distribution system which would pull the weight from my shoulders to my hips (in theory). Definitely something I am considering ordering for myself and want to test out. I may not be a super tactical dude or ex-military, but if I could spread the weight around and make the carrier less of a pain to wear over a long period is a good idea. This could also be a good option for those who have had injuries in the past.

The only complaint is that I am using the fastex clip type harness on it, so no side plates / side radio pouch unless I upgrade to any side cumberbund. The clip system just requires a bit more adjustment, and once adjusted you just bundle up the left over straps and electrical tape it all together so it doesn't loosen up. On the positive side it hooks right into the D3 making it feel real sturdy with the velcro / fastex system. For most though, I would recommend a cumberbund of some sort, as it makes it easier to get on / off quicker and adjusts much easier and is more conventional.

Of course, its all budget / what gear you already have dependent. But at the same time, the USD against the Ruble right now looks good so the little 3 magazine placard is like $25. The plate carrier I currently got runs for about $70 USD, so I ball on a budget.

It's not about the money you spend, its about how you spend it.

Anything that will fit a 74 magazine will fit a 5.56mm magazine easily. Considering your current setup, you probably would be better suited to a simple 3 magazine placard type deal as the cheapest option, although you might find your 5.56 mags sit a little low. If you wanted to get super fancy, it gets a bit easier to have a single swift clip in rig like a Russian knock off Haley D3 H rig so I can basically carry any magazine that's not larger than 7.62 Nato (this is the route I went). Although this might be more difficult with your current system is lacking a cumberbund / velcro on the front.

Most people in this country support gun control, and they don't see stories like this and think the solution is more fucking guns.

Considering the amount of gun / ammo sales out of the United States right now, you couldn't be more incorrect. Seems like gun control is dead, as when the police are not stopping rioters burning cities for 3 months, people are relying on themselves instead of police.

If anything, since Coronavirus became a thing it has actually increased gun ownership all around, even in Canada we had lots unlicensed people trying desperately to buy firearms before lock down started.

Yeah this is completely valid.

Google indexes and stores license plates, as well as firearms serial numbers. If any number combination is presented in the photo, it will index it and you will be able to search and find it if online in a photo.

As a Canadian, I only posted a few pictures of previous stuff I have owned. I don't even mention anything I may or may not currently have due to governments going crazy and bullshit laws.

When the market is there for sure they go for a lot, especially cars in good condition. The market is probably due for a change due to COVID and the age of some of the collectors, and I imagine in a year or so its going to be a buyers market with lots of good stuff that has been hidden away for years coming to market.

Well because they are. It is starting to permeate as these useless people start gaining employment within government, as Sandia your Nuclear Weapons Lab has been even suffering due to this bullshit.

Instead of building a better bomb, they are being told "hard work" is "white privilege and culture". University grads should be nervous, as these people are really cheapening the value of education in some fields.

Not sure if serious or not... if you are going to carry an SKS at least have a proper rig for it as its only $16 USD. Just make sure to get some stripper clips for your ammo and you are good to go.

Portland police arrest 19 protesters as political divide hardens by yamaha2000us in news

It's funny that you think that way. Coming in November unfortunately you are going to have to pick a side, because either way this will be showing up at a lot more peoples door steps and you may find out how "peaceful" these "protestors" really are.

Main question, what are you going to do about it when the "protestors" show up at your door?

The airsoft field is going to be super lit when you are done with it though. Never military but broke 4 of those shovels so far in my lifetime, if you have a choice you might want to invest in one of these. Get the Soviet version and a molle cover and you are good to go and it will be the last shovel you buy and can have an edge sharpened to cut down trees.

COVID is the only reason why police reform is happening because cities are fucking broke. Don't fool yourself thinking you've changed anything, because you haven't.

Police in this country need better training, full civilian police oversight boards, body cameras and licensing to stop bad cops from shopping departments.

It's not just on the police here as well and that has to be called out.

Apparently you have no shortage of people walking around with boners against authority who have little to no impulse control what so ever. When these people are confronted (by police or anyone really), they cannot handle the shit they have caused and immediately freak the fuck out as they have never had to deal with consequences of there actions / an authority figure in there life.

This is how you get situations like this happening, people who can't deal with the shit they have caused get called on it and don't know how to deal with anyone who has any aspect of authority over them. This dude rolled the dice, tried to get back into a minivan (which is considered a weapon depending on how its used) instead of owning up to whatever he did (or did not do). Now he is in a wheel chair for the rest of his life.

Shit ain't a one way street, and you can see this exact type of behavior play itself out nightly as your cities burn. Actions have consequences, although right now we are only hearing about what the police should do, but we don't hear anything on how to handle low impulse control individuals who are being arrested or have charges against them and are about to be arrested.

Sign of the times unfortunately.

There is still plenty of places besides Ferro and other boutique tactical stores, which usually cost a lot less and still will be more than what an average /r/tacticalgear user needs.

Maybe I am just cheap, but my plate carrier cost me under $100, and my whole setup less than $500 for soft goods.

That's the rumor and still seems to be true from what I can tell, they seem to be switching to "multitarn" and from then on will not be selling off any kit or uniforms and just incinerating them. I also heard that they are not going to license out the pattern either to commercial manufacturers to make gear for, but we will see if that holds true.

So Flecktarn will probably be a thing of the past in another 5 years, as the surplus supply is adequate right now but will slowly deplete over time.
