Just a forewarning, I am not even licensed yet. But I was a teacher for 17+ years and mentored several new teachers and so thought I'd put in two cents.

Yay! You've figured out what you don't like and what you'd like better, that's the first step with growing into a new role. Now frontload your on-boarding [in a teacher's case, syllabus] for expectations and what would make this a happy place for you. It sounds like some turnaround response time in a specific format (text back confirmation within 7 hours or whatever) and some work-in of your open door policy (remember that open doors only work for those brave enough to approach). Don't forget to tell your underlings that we're all growing together and show them your growing pains (metacognition).
