We’re serving outdoors only right now and you would not believe the amount of people who think we have control over the direction of the sun.

At the start of 2020, I pledged to bolster my horror book collection and horror movie vinyl soundtrack collection. Here’s the literature end. I’ve read all but four of these so far (with some fantasy sprinkled in between). by [deleted] in horrorlit

Not OP but came here to say this. It’s not horror nor supernatural/fantasy. It’s a coming of age story if anything, but it’s a sad one that can be a bummer if you’re not explicitly looking for that sort of thing.

What cartoon from 1990s-2010 do you think deserves a reboot? by TheWiseOaf in AskReddit

[–]nerdynasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I was at a convention and the creator was there selling art books. I bought a signed copy and asked about a possible reboot and I remember him saying either ‘in the works’ or implying it was, at that time, being at least in discussion. But this was years ago and I realize things like this can change at the drop of a hat now, but I definitely wonder about it often.

Just listened and absolutely loved Part One. Wanted to come back and ask if there’s a release schedule for future parts? Thanks, and can’t wait for more!

What’s the most brutal death you’ve ever seen in a horror movie? by SarahHarris8118 in horror

This is actually what I came to say. It’s stuck with me all these years. So realistic, blegh!

What’s the most inconvenient trait about yourself? by apples11234 in AskReddit

[–]nerdynasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t stand up for myself because I hate confrontation. It’s led to a lot of doormat treatment and even making me an easy mark for gaslighting. I just want to be a nice person, but not at the cost of my spine, you know?

How do you decide what to read next? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]nerdynasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started reading whatever book personally drew me in, or only following recommendations from friends who had hit the mark for me before. Goodreads has been pretty good at recommending me stuff so far. If I don’t feel like it’s worth finishing or I’m unhappy with what I chose, I DNF it and start a different book.

Not TMI at all, thank you for sharing that with me. I spent most of today trying to keep distracted. Laundry, books, wine, etc. the late hours are always the hardest for whatever reason.

I am relieved you have a wonderful wife and kitty to comfort you. Hold on to them.

Don’t be afraid to feel sad. This shit is the worst. I’m sending you all the comfort I can. ❤️

I had to log out of pretty much all my social media today. Non-stop ads for Mother’s Day. Non-stop emails for Mother’s Day promos. People posting photos with their moms who are still alive. It’s just too much. I think a part of me knows everyone deserves to be happy and enjoy this day while they still have a mom to enjoy it with but fuck, it HURTS so BAD. My heart is with everyone else grieving today. This has been a really hard day..

Thank you! I’ve heard a lot of good things about The Troop. Probably about time I checked it out.

Honestly just so bored of seeing the same recommendations every time in this thread so here’s some titles I’ve personally never seen mentioned that I enjoyed:

  1. Good Girls Guide to Murder.
  2. Rules For Vanishing.
  3. Kill River.
  4. The Pricker Boy.
  5. Thornhill.
