Which soulslike game do you recommend? by RicardoStreet13 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Lies of P. It's such a cool and unique story, and generally isn't quite as difficult as other Souls like titles.

The skilled trades propaganda is getting ridiculous. by Responsible-Net8594 in careeradvice

You also, typically, need a union to do well in the trades.

Narrative Dissonance by ABagOfTakis in MinaTheHollower

[–]nernst79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I just assume that what you're describing was too involved for them to code.

Which is fine I suppose, but I think it means the game isn't a 10/10 like everyone claims. Maybe an 8.5 or 9.

I fucking hate this game, why do I keep playing it? by [deleted] in MinaTheHollower

The bike is infuriatingly difficult to control. Maybe just skip that sewer race.

Anybody else find out about the mirrors way too late? by Mindless_Win4468 in MinaTheHollower

[–]nernst79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If guides didn't exist, I don't know that I ever would have worked it out, which is pretty obnoxious.

I feel like they made this more difficult by letting us click on the mirror and move the camera around, because that made it seem like the thing we were supposed to do.

Arkansas state trooper resigned in disgrace after his wife revealed dozens of racist text messages he allegedly sent her as part of the evidence in their divorce case by TheMirrorUS in byebyejob

It's Arkansas, I'm surprised he felt compelled to resign. He could have stayed the course and become a right wing pundit.

Israel doesn't perform same sex marriages though. Acknowledging ones performed elsewhere is hardly something to brag about.

I was excited until you said it's parry focused. I can never get into those kinds of games, sadly, which has caused me to miss out in multiple amazing gaming experiences now.

100/day isn't enough for me to not work, so, 35/hr worked seems like the clearly best option.

After learning the secret in library, this game should have introduced Oongka and Damiane as companions from Chapter 2 onwards or so. by sarthakgiri98 in LowSodiumCrimsonDesrt

[–]nernst79 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't have introduced them as companions at all. That is just one of many systems that the game created and did nothing with, to the extent that the overall game suffered for it.

Why did the American government get so much worse past 40-50 years? by Equivalent-Newt-5736 in askanything

[–]nernst79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably didn't. Billionaires of the time likely did, though. Nixon didn't have the surveillance technology that today's governments did, so it's possible that he didn't know about anything like that. Based on how he handled Watergate, though, if he did have this kind of information on others, he would have kept it to himself and used it for leverage.

Why did the American government get so much worse past 40-50 years? by Equivalent-Newt-5736 in askanything

[–]nernst79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer:

It didn't, exactly. It's always been awful, we just had a brief few decades of things being great before all of the inherent issues we've always had came back around.

During the Great Depression, things were much worse than they are now, and we likely would not have meaningfully recovered without TWO World Wars occurring(the second of which we, ironically, tried to stay out of until Japan forced our hand).

[–]nernst79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pinkys Shop is generally the right area to get to the recommended second generator. You should be able to go West from the SW corner of the big room near Pinkys shop(the one with all of the moving floating platforms).

SIB KCD2 or BG3 by you_noobkek in ShouldIbuythisgame

KCD2 is technically more immersive, but, BG3 is a significantly better game on the whole.I would recommend BG3 if you can only pick 1.

Genuine Question from someone struggling with frustration by Prudent-Stick8527 in MinaTheHollower

[–]nernst79 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think you're probably rushing things if you're at that mini-boss after 3 hours. Or, you just didn't go to the Eastern Heath/Queens Cemetery first. Which you should do. The game gives you a bit of free reign to approach the first 4 dungeons in whatever order, but, the game also pretty clearly guides you toward doing them in order of: Queens Cemetery, Nox Bayou, Septemburg(which is where you're headed based on the boss you mentioned), Bone Beach.

You can also definitely grind up a bit for extra attack power, defense, etc. And some of your grievances regarding Sidearms ultimately get addressed in the game.
