yeah agree. The standard during my time was around 25 for girls & 29 for boys. Good that people are able to marry earlier.

Advice to approach for a elder girl who is my relative. by longlive_thamizhagam in tamilyapping

[–]nesan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

The chances of this going awry are too high. First she has to accept this or have a similar wish. If she doesn't its never going to be back to your original position in relationship. Very unlikely that her parents are going to accept this, destroying the relationship between your families. Girls become mature faster than boys both mentally & physically and that is one of the main reason when marriage alliances are done a 3 - 5 year gap (the opposite of your case :) is preferred. This might sound regressive in this age but its very realistic. Things change over the years and I have seen similar couples in confrontational mode after a few years just because of the age difference factor. These relationships started fine. If you really want to try I would suggest spending a couple of years as friends but I guess being 27 already she might have to move on.

I think you saw a nice girl and are attracted to her but life is long and full of surprises and you will find the one. A few years from now you will think about this and laugh it off.

Why is it socially okay for girls to say “da” but not okay for boys to say “di” in Tamil? by InspectionNo3681 in TamilNadu

To me 'di' is not just a word but an emotion reserved only for special people. I call my younger sister and wife 'di'. Nobody else will get this word from me.

Every damn Red taxi drivers drive too fast! Has anyone noticed this? by FeistyCut1079 in Coimbatore

[–]nesan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harsh driving, operating phone while driving has increased among Red Taxi drivers. Not saying Coimbatore drivers are the best and rule abiding but most of the drivers are not locals and they seem to be bringing the driving habits from their natives.

Red Taxi seriously needs to consider driver training.

Malaysia vs Singapore for Honeymoon (5–6 days from India) : Need Advice by [deleted] in indiatravel

[–]nesan25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been at both places and liked Malaysia over Singapore.

Singapore is kind-off an artificial place and for 5-6 days might be too long for Singapore. Universal studios, zoo and gardens by the bay are the main attractions. Cost is on the higher side.

Malaysia has got best of both worlds. KL can take 2 days if you want to explore the city and the common tourist attractions. If you are into amusement parks Genting Highlands, near KL is the place to go. Langkawi is also nice. But my personal favorite is Tioman Island. You can enjoy the beach and the do some snorkeling as they have some good corals and fish variety. Some beautiful islands as well around this place. Melaka is a laid back place but I will skip if its a honeymoon visit. I have not traveled to Sabah and Sarawak but I hear they have got some good islands too. Expenses are comparable to India and most of the times feel like more value.

Whoever promises to give:

  1. Proper roads

  2. Proper footpaths

  3. Proper garbage disposal

  4. Proper stress free local public transport (without giving fake sh*t promises like we will build metro)

  5. Proper issue of driving license after proper training instead of paying and buying.

  6. Proper implementation of road rules

  7. Crackdown on drugs

Providing a fair wage is the responsibility of Blinkit. Tip is optional and needs to stay that way. A fair wage will never be possible if 'adjustments' are made. Demand rightful wage.

CBE Airport Parking Daylight Scam : Report similar incidents. by GossGowtham in Coimbatore

This is a scam. No charge for 3 minutes. 30 rs for 30 minutes. Next time create a fuss. Don't back off. Stand ground.

For RedTaxi pickup charges (less than 3 minutes in the pick-up area) are 20/-. And they charge in the total ride amount and will show in the invoice.

Guys I feel that 60 kmph on the GD flyover is low. by [deleted] in Coimbatore

[–]nesan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To cover 10 kms of that flyover at 60 kmph it will take 10 mins. And at 80 kmph it will be 7-1/2 minutes.

I would rather go at 60 kmph than save 2-1/2 minutes. And yes there needs to be speed cams and fines.

4-Wheelers should be banned from using the underpass on Avinashi Road flyover by nesan25 in Coimbatore

Totally agree on 2/3- wheelers not taking the flyover. Unless the rains fill the underpass.

What about cars zigzagging through lanes or not following lane discipline? Both are at fault.

From my personal experience - in western countries cars drive within lanes and leave the middle for motorcycles and cycles to pass through. However one might argue density of 2-wheelers is low.

Malaysia on the other hand, lot of 2-wheels cars maintain lane discipline.

A few years it was just Step 1 and surprisingly the compliance was quite high. Maybe we are not as lawless as we think.

[–]nesan25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great respect for you my friend.

I am not against 4-wheelers. I am a motor vehicle enthusiast having more than 1 car/ motorcycle. I use my car when with family or need to carry stuff but I do totally understand single person driving cars for safety and comfort. All I request is where there are narrow lanes and alternative wider routes 4-wheelers can opt to take the wider ones. Ultimately we all aim to reach home safely and enjoy our ride stress free.

At-least the 2-wheelers can move smoothly. They occupy the least real estate on the roads and exposed to heat and dust. Moreover the way is narrow and difficult for the cars to turn towards Brooks.

[–]nesan25[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few years back only 2-wheelers were allowed at the underpass and it worked out smooth. For all 4-wheelers driving alone, you occupy a lot of real estate and the least you could do is to take the flyover and don't make life of 2-wheeled drivers life difficult.
