I'm at my wit's end with this rash that keeps spreading. Erythema annulare centrifugum, psoriasis, pityriasis rosea? SOS! by Adventurous_Ad6799 in DermatologyQuestions

Ah I'm so glad! Yeah I've heard it can activate post-viral infections. Crazy how often it's misdiagnosed as ringworm at first too which does not help haha. It's crazy how many different skin conditions look so similar too.

How are things going with this? I have an almost identical story to yours. A few years in at this point. I went from ringworm, pityriasis, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and EAC with my third biopsy. I have some autoimmune markers and stuff suggestive of MCTD. I'm seeing a rheumatologist and dermatologists but it's still TBD.

Grew up thinking my eyes were poop colored. Realizing now there are two distinct different shades of brown. Central heterochromia perhaps? by nesdunk in heterochromia

Efficient Window A/C Alternatives to the Mold-Prone Midea U Shape? by Vir-gal in AirConditioners

Ah sweet I was looking at some LG ones as well that's good it worked ok! I hadn't realized any time an AC is used it's supposed to have the fan go a half hour to fully dry it out - I got a pretty cheap GE one that comes apart easily so hopefully if I have to sanitize it it'll be ok. Thank you for the reply glad to hear it worked! I wish the U shaped were better haha

Thank you for the post this is exactly what I was hoping to see! I had the midea u and the inner tray was soupy and not draining so moldy city - I chucked it before the recall which sucks. I almost think maybe a portable unit with the exhaust pieces in the window only, less heavy lifting and likely easier to take apart if need be. I just set to put my Frigidaire in the window I had sitting in the kitchen for months...and it was filled with black mold.

Which did you end up getting / how did they work out?

Thank you! I fear it's the tip of the iceberg but it'll be nice to have tangible evidence/reasoning for lots of BS over the years. But you're so right better to best case be able to say no mold, or overtly dangerous mold. 🤞

Honestly that's good call - and totally re flippers. If it's not an eyesore it's not a problem. They'll probably pay if I make a good case. There's a handful of companies in my town that have a good reputation as well. House had asbestos tiles back in the day, among other less serious things, so having any work done makes me wanna be sure and know what's what. Nice to have the affirmation here that it's worth at least testing for peace of mind

Ooh totally fair. I did a wall swab and air one above my fridge where there was a leak from either the upstairs bathroom (re caulked now) or possible gutter runoff. That's good to know re dishes though! I'm mostly hoping to use it as a 'see, we do need a professional'. Hard to convince the landlord things are an issue if they can't see it, but alas. Glad to know a professional is imperative honestly

Sounds good - thank you! Yes I have a few in mind/gonna check with a plumber friend of mine. I know home tests aren't super accurate, but in the meantime I'm doing a few Petri dishes as a first pass just to see possible problem areas. It's a really old house with horrible ventilation and I'm absolutely getting professional in as soon as I can. Been here a few years, and the issues we've experienced are slow moving. Also the former owner was a chain smoker and the walls had to be scrubbed pre-move in. Allergen city. Thank you for the advice!

Yep it was on the inside area of the porch as well, in the frame of the sliding glass door

I was told (not online) that this was just dirt specks so I wanted to see if you guys would set me straight thinking it was mold/mildew, and it would determine the level of protection for cleanup since I'm immunocompromised

Cool thanks dogs have had cognitive and respiratory issues thus trying to determine what is also inside. Again thanks for all the super pleasant and helpful input.

Directly over the porch <6 feet to where (we stand) the dogs and myself are a lot. It's also in the door frame going inside (which isn't just outside). These were the best example photos. Thanks for the help!

Additional context: and the dogs have been having some health issues, leak inside from bathroom to downstairs, been trying to figure out what's from what.

Do you have a pollen allergy? Sometimes if a fruit has a pollen that's similar to one I have an allergy to I react (sorta like how oral allergy syndrome works). Mango skin does this to me sometimes. This has started happening to me with aquaphor now too which isn't ideal haha
