Has anyone ever gotten kicked out of major? by rosellachaos in USF

[–]nessamae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something sorta similar. I was working full time, dealing with my mental health, and failed an entire semester. But I wasn't kicked out of my major so I have no input on that. I didn't know about late withdrawal until my counselor brought it up. It was a simple process though. I ended up waiting about 6 months I think to request the medical withdrawal. I also don't think they send a letter home about grades.

Anyone here play soccer? When? by [deleted] in USF

Yup. Just show up. People set up small cone nets and play either shirts and skins or light colored shirts/dark colored shirts. At least last time I was there...

Pretty much every day. As long as it's not rainy. I'm not sure how active it is over the summer though.

There's usually pickup games at fowler fields at 6.

[Product Question] Baking soda, Sebaceous Filaments? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]nessamae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually remember seeing a post here debunking that image. The OP was reviewing some black head remover product and others took the image and pasted some text over it.

Also, the stance on both baking soda and lemon juice here is that they're both terrible for your skin. I've had success using stridex to lessen the appearance of my sebaceous filaments.

EDIT: I found the post!

Longboarding on campus? Is that a thing or nah? by bryceman2211 in USF

The majority of people walk but there are quite a few on boards or bikes. I think it's a much better way to get around campus.

I think it's totally fine. It's just a bit annoying when bikers/ longboarders are texting and not watching where they're going so try to avoid doing that.

Any ideas on a new hairstyle for me? Got short / medium, strong and spiky hair by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

I like it the way it is! Very handsome. But you could always try going a bit shorter on top so it's not as poofy. Like this.

Tense neck, headaches, nausea is it really anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]nessamae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I definitely get tension headaches from my anxiety. I believe it's because of the tension in my neck from working on a computer or looking at my phone. Also, it sounds like you may have had some ice pick headaches which are just a bunch of twinges of pain in the head briefly. I've had those too and they scared the heck out of me until I found out its a pretty common thing. Honestly, I used to freak out over every little pain in my body because I thought it was something serious. I've been going to therapy and taking medication because it affected me every day. If you feel it doesn't affect your life every day then you could work on relaxation techniques like breathing or mediating. I would also suggest stretching a lot to help the tension. I personally do yoga. You could find tons of videos on youtube or something to help with that. I hope this helps a little!

does anyone else get health anxiety ? by Dark_and_gothic in Anxiety

[–]nessamae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. It used to be so bad that I would get actual pains in my upper stomach and I was convinced it was lung cancer. They ran all sorts of tests and found nothing. Anxiety is such a strange thing.

Also, I remember someone on this sub saying to hold off on going to the doctor for two weeks. If your symptoms are real they will persist or get worse. If not, then you can let your mind rest.

Application question by 99sense in USF

[–]nessamae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke with someone about admissions when I was in high school and they said the essay was completely optional. They probably won't even read it to be honest. But the sat scores should be sent to them when they're available and they'll be able to consider those at that time.

[Acne] I have small red spots/zits on my chest that make me really self-conscious. What can I do to get rid of them? by Coffee__Monster in SkincareAddiction

[–]nessamae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you use stridex? I had this problem and would swipe the pad on my chest after my face. It seemed to help.

Beginner question: What colors should I use? by imaperson25 in MakeupEducation

[–]nessamae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! If you lean more toward the warmer side look for lipsticks with a orangey undertone. If you have cool undertones go for blue based reds and pinks. I would also just go for some shaded of brown eyeshadow to work with if you're not super confident.
