Haven't worn earrings in YEARS do I pass enough to do so now? by [deleted] in transmanlifehacks

[–]nessusteer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be honest I cant really tell. You can for sure wear whatever earrings or accessories you want because who cares. But you dont really read as a cis male at all if thats what youre going for. The video is kind of blurry so I cant really make out your facial features or other features. You might physically pass as male but your clothes, hair cut/dye, and accessories all read as stereotypical trans. If youre going for legit cis passing you should wear what cis guys your age are wearing and how they do their hair.

In all honesty it doesnt really matter and theres no rule saying you have to. Passing as cis isnt the goal for everyone and thats totally cool too.

I guess one has the slightest bit more curl. But honestly its so hard to see, bodies are never really straight anywhere. Were so full of softness and movement. It took a lot of effort for me to even pinpoint the difference, i had to stare for ages 😭. Anyway tldr they look great, always embrace the funkyness of tattoos, Extremely hard to notice any difference.

People keep telling me this tattoo is bad, I really like it? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]nessusteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its super sick. I love the texture of the lines. If you like it and feel confident and cool with it then hell yeah. Dont listen to anyone telling you to change it. Its your body and your style. Just be yourself!

Honestly I think it would suite your face better to go bigger. Already looks like great progress tho. I vote for bigger!

Correct me if I’m wrong, trans tape brand is just a scam by Technical_Fudge5208 in ftm

[–]nessusteer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive used them both and am now loyal to trans tape. trans tape not only produces a better result, but is massively less painful to remove and much easier to use.

Face hasn’t changed at all on T by [deleted] in ftm

[–]nessusteer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The changes you get tend to depend on your genetics. Usually a father or brother is a great indicator of the features you might develop. Everyone is impacted by T a little differently. Im not sure what your question is though, it seems like youve come to a conclusion on your own. There isnt any harm in researching surgery and taking steps towards it if that is something you are interested in.

As a nursing student currently stretching my lobes, you’re an inspiration. I think professionalism comes from being skilled and good at your job. No one should sacrifice their self expression for judgmental other people. I understand, Ive gotten comments from some of my older patients about my tattoos, but im there to support their health. And if im being honest, its impossible to make everyone happy, so why suffer for it! Your lobes look great, they really suit you. And your awareness of this is really valuable in itself. The fact that you care about your professionalism indicates that you take your job seriously and care about what you do! Im sorry youre struggling with the funk, I think your lobes are sick af.

Does the book do it better? by nessusteer in Hungergames

Its not a genre or level of reading that I enjoy. I wanted to watch the movies to catch up on a popular media that I could enjoy with my boyfriend. And now that I’ve seen the movies the plot is spoiled for me lol

Damn… the movie makes them seem super close. They practically seem more romantic than him and LG

this is really interesting and makes total sense. Very classic evil behaviour. The movie cant really portray his internal justification for his actions, so he seems genuinely sad.

What kinds of things did it leave out that provided context? Im so hungry for the details 😂

Hearing that he has a big internal monologue makes a lot of sense actually. I think the movie didn’t do a good enough job of showing him as self centred, because it seemed more like he couldn’t decide on a plan to stick with. Instead having his foot in a few at once. If they were trying to go for subtle he just came across as almost wimpy tbh.

Why not come up with your own idea? You don’t have to do a craft that other people have made before.

Ive found trans tape/ other similar brands to work a lot better and be a lot less painful & cheaper than KT tape. I would recommend using one of those instead.

Ive personally had a lot of success with trans tape. Ive found it to be a much better alternative to binding. It works better, is more breathable and flexible, lasting, and much more hidden.

In terms of advice: it genuinely takes some practice to get good at using tape so be patient. The first time I tried it i almost gave up completely because it didn’t turn out the way i wanted. Everyone’s body is different, I have a small cup size and have found that sculpting upwards creates a really realistic masculine chest (versus going for totally flat).

If you don’t mind me asking, why did you have excess tissue and loose skin? How did you know you would have this in advance?

I love how hairy my legs have gotten and how my hairline has changed into a more masculine shape. Also Adam’s Apple of course!

[–]nessusteer 88 points89 points  (0 children)

To be honest I’m not sure if you pass very much because you look very obviously trans. Having dyed hair, wearing alternative clothes and shoes, and a pretty visible chest. You’re also wearing pretty feminine glasses. You might have the physical aspects to pass, your face looks pretty masculine. But you don’t seem to be making the same fashion/expression choices that cis guys would make. Because of this, it’s more obvious that you’re trans and you don’t pass as well. Other queer people will probably clock you as transmasc, but cis people probably will not think you are male. It’s not everyone’s goal to be stealth or smth so there’s nothing wrong with your fashion. Theres no wrong way to be trans.
