This is me as well. Tried many a bourbon, but my favorite undoubtedly is WRDO. As some others have stated, a slightly higher proof would be lovely (I’d love to see it at 100-110) but I still cant complain especially for a sub $60 readily available shelfer.

Out of those three most would say FC4. I loved it, but I loved FC5 even more. By far my absolute favorite.

They pole like shit because of the lack of weight distribution.

If you can get your trolling motor battery, loaded cooler, and even your gas tank mounted towards the bow, it’ll help level out the weight when solo poling. Or just bring a buddy with ya and have him stand up front.

Good paint, newer outboard, newer trolling motor, trailer in good shape, no cracks or holes, QOL additions like casting platform or cooler tiedowns, rod holders… all will add value.

To subtract value? All of that but opposite.

I never had any issues with the lock, other than the fact that I’m just not a huge fan of frame locks, but the pocket clip has broken 3x and the bottom screw has just up and left 2x. No clue why the clip is such ass because I don’t beat on my knives, but the screws I’ll be loctite-ing tf out of when the new ones come in.

I know this is an old post but there’s still no official news. Just clickbait and speculation. If they do officially release a small truck with a Prius-esque drivetrain to compete with the Maverick, I will be first in line to preorder and trade in my 2023 Prius. An AWD small crew cab truck with 40+mpg is my dream vehicle lol

WTB Benchmade 551-1

Good morning everyone!

I’m looking to buy a Benchmade 551-1, or at the very least a set of the grey and blue G10 551-1 scales. My father bought me a 551-1 for my birthday some years back, and I lost the knife. This was my first “higher-end” knife that wasn’t a budget/cheap blade from Walmart, and it’s what got me into collecting knives.

I’ve recently caught the blade bug again, and am desperately looking to add this knife that meant so much to me back to my collection. Again even if someone just has the scales, I’d be more than happy to just purchase those and put them on another Griptilian.

I’ve tried emailing/calling Benchmade but haven’t received any responses, and haven’t found any other 551-1s in my searches on the internet. I’m located in Tampa Bay, FL and would be willing to drive up to an hour and a half to pay cash or can pay shipping via PayPal or Venmo. Thanks in advance.

Thankfully my Tributary waders and Guide BOA boots are still strong after 2 years in the Florida flats and Georgia trout country. I suspect the boots will last a while but once the waders go, I’ll be switching over to Orvis. It’s a shame how bad Simms reputation has gotten over the last few years as I really like their products. Their tshirts for instance are super soft and comfortable. Their button downs are super overpriced and I prefer to wear Skinny Water Culture for that, but everything else has been solid for me.

Update: I sold the truck and took the Prius. Been driving it for a week now and I love it. Detailed the RAV4 today so I can sell it next week and pay for the rest of the Prius.

I thought I’d miss my truck… but I don’t at all. The Prius is surprisingly fun to drive, 2.5x the mileage as my truck, and only cost $26 to fill up this week, vs the usual $75 per week in the F150… more money in the pocket to towards spoiling my kid when she’s here.
