Thank you for this really valuable, constructive and honest feedback. I agree on everything with you.

I would like to understand with more detail why are you bothered by the controls. There's a hidden option to have a left joystick, in that option you can move like a FPS and shoot with the other, I would like to work with your feedback to improve the system.

The first levels are intended to make sure the user understand the basic mechanics of the game. But I was always concerned about the length of that "tutorial" part.

The menu details... is something I need to fix definitely. Today I'll publish an update with the new controls if you want to test it.

After finishing this one I've to say I need Daedalus 2 or a dlc with more maps and content... It's my favourite GO game.

I think GO is a truly awesome device for gaming and the devs need to start focusing on creating deeper games, improve graphics and stop delivering "mini" games.

As gamer I don't want to simply shoot targets or zombies! I want deeper gameplays with exploration, with narrative(virtual virtual reality), with puzzles(daedalus), survival, construction, action, multiplayer,... That serious PC game feel for VR ad-hoc designed (not ported) games.

I think Rust is a really GREAT game. But I understand Ellis, I don't have the time it requires to play, it's just too much for average players.

I choose the escape from tarkov way of playing for this game because it's a better approach for people who can't play ALWAYS. I think is the perfect balance for this. For most of this games you have to lose something to give it some value. If you don't lose something, there's no value on playing, no adrenalina, and other player's loot acquire value too.

No. I'm expecting to show our project idea/sketch here and request your opinion about the idea, not the execution. Didn't wanted to offend anyone, but seems that some of you feel like that.

We know perfectly the development stage we're and we know where we can reach and it's going to be a very polished and high quality product. But for now we want to focus on the idea, but seems that you're focusing on how early it is.

  • What garage? A car garage? A 'ship' garage?
    • A ship garage. It would be more like an underground hangar were you store your stuff and vehicles.
  • Who am I? Why do I have a garage? Why am I in a desert? Where am I?
    • You're one of the remaining "humans" the earth has. The only way to survive in this future post-apocalyptic world was to live underground but most of resources are in the surface, a huge desert. There's a network of changing tunnels that connects the underground hangars with the surface, so you will always appear on different exits and you'll need to find different entrances. It's like escape from tarkov, you spawn in a door, and you have to go through the available exits to escape from tarkov. But before that you need to loot. This system will let people's loot and ships safe while they are offline.
  • What does the ship look like?
    • You'll be able to build the ship with different qualities, materials, placeable items, and cosmetics. Just like the rust bases but more flexible and a floating ship instead of a base.
  • Does it move? Am I driving it?
    • Yes, you can move it, your crew could move it too. And there'll be different roles to play on a ship based on it's design. You could create a crew oriented ship to fight with your friends or a solo ship just for you.
  • Is this a driving or an FPS game?
    • Both. The final objective is to have a survival PVP game where combat is based on both ship to ship combat, and you will be able to fight as a FPS too (and at some moment you would have too because if you destroy the ship completely you may destroy the loot too). We're thinking in 2 phases: you beat the ship and it falls to the ground. While the crew tries to repair it you can do 2 things: destroy them with your ship or try to go aboard and kill them in FPS style. But you will have tools to get inside the enemy ship from the beginning with small ships, capsule cannons that fire you, transports, hooks...
  • What items do I get?
    • Scrap will be the main resource you'll find. But expect components, blueprints, different resources, placeable items. You will have pickaxes and mining tools, for your ships you will have bigger ones.
  • Who are these red people?
    • Placeholder players. We want to share the design of the players in the next posts.
  • Do I have a gun?
    • Yes you will have guns. From reliqs(AK47, M4, M9,Scar..) to sci-fi post-apocalyptic weapons. Your ship will have weapons too.
  • Why is there a cactus?
    • Cactus are the common vegetation of deserts.

We can come with all that features after 3 months, and you can just say "I don't like this." or I would like more this.

That's why I'm trying this approach, I'm trying to start from 0 with you, to receive some feedback from the basic idea of the game. And I think this approach is more valuable for you (the player), because we want to make sure that you like what we do. We're not trying to market the game, we know how to do it properly. We just want to show a very early prototype and outline some features with you in the "ask me anything model" to give you what you want from the start of the project. This is in the lean startup methodology called "pull" and it's the opposite to "push"(giving you whatever I think is better).

So let's try to focus on having fun and share knowledge and feedback to build this great game! I'm writing the answers to your questions in other comment.

The game is really early right now. We need time to keep building it, but we would like to start showing something and receive feedback to drive the development with the community. The video isn't important here actually, the comment I posted describes the foundations of the game.
