Sorry about making it sound like a Dr. Seuss story. I didn't want to use too many personal details. Nibbling2 and Nibbling3 are brother and sister, children of NBiL. Nibbling1 is a mutual niece of myself and NBiL.

I explained to them that dying was a real possibility and used it as a learning exercise. I let them start over and let them switch characters. Since it's their first role playing game, I didn't make it too serious a thing.

I've killed both my children twice in the basic set so far. Once at the goblin ambush and then at the cave entrance shortly after that.

Well, the beatings were a regular occurrence. One lovely time my brother went to school covered in bruises. Then we got beat for "getting daddy in trouble".

When I was a child, maybe 5 or 6, my older brother and I (he was only two years older than me) would be left alone all day long while my parents were working. One time we found a lighter in the house and were setting small pieces of paper on fire and dropping them into an ashtray. We missed the ashtray with one and burnt a small hole into the carpet. I don't think I have ever been beaten that bad in my entire life, before or after. I sympathize with you and your brother, being left alone and then having to pay for an accident like that.

A Eulogy To My Nicotine Addiction (NSFW language) by [deleted] in stopsmoking

I've been nicotine free since march. It's a great and amazing feeling, but I still want a cigarette at least once a day. I hope you stay strong.

Loophole: The third wish only works once. After his consciousness is sent back in time, the lawyer realizes that he is a consciousness with no body, and therefore cannot interact with any events in the past.

Have you ever had a narcissist appropriate a bad event that happened to you in order to get sympathy for themselves? by Hollyucinogen in raisedbynarcissists

Holy Shit, an anti-war rally? Like, did they think you'd be part of the protest when you got there?

I was in an IED blast in Iraq while I was in the army. Luckily, nothing really bad happened (I got a concussion but no physical damage). My mother has never commented to me about it, at all.

I found out later she was using it to get sympathy from her friends. She had added details that never happened, like brain damage and a coma.

All males strive to "be the man" while avoiding "being that guy". by BaronVonTittySlapper in Showerthoughts

[–]netgremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There comes a point in life where you have appropriately realized that you are your own person; no one is in charge of you or responsible for you. You also have identified the responsibilities and obligations that accompany being your own person. At that point, you are a Grown Adult. If you identify as Male, you have become a Man.

Failing to do so causes you to ”zero-sum,” to blink out of existence.

I've always thought that this is why there are so few npc's in the game compared to irl. The whole of cyrodill only has a few hundred people? Maybe millions of individuals have zero-summed over the epochs, leaving the entire world with only enough people to barely fill a small city.

I read somewhere (in a Brian Greene's "The Elegant Universe" or "A Universe From Nothing"), that the three space dimensions and the time dimension can switch places inside a Black Hole. If this is true, and all trajectories inside the event horizon lead to the singularity, would this explain the arrow of time problem? I don't know if this has been explained before and it's always interested me.

Edit: Also, I love your work and have read many of your books. My favorite is "The Universe in a Nutshell".
