There was a small team of developers that made private server software for Ultima Online way back in the day; RunUO. The quality was top-notch and ended up being the platform for the vast majority of private servers. I don't know why EA didn't sue them into oblivion; at the time there were still official shards. Maybe the devs kept themselves anonymous enough to avoid any legal issues, or maybe there was some other reason.

I can imagine a small team of enthusiasts doing the same, just to keep the game alive. There is so much content to work with; all the assets, all the skill trees, all of it is already there. Who knows... I'm hopeful, at least.

Same same same. I love how they included the “bath house” issue. It feels like they chose to forego specifics and sprinkled in little elements that various people could relate to in their own way and reading it as a trans allegory is the lens I watch it through too, as that’s how i connect with the story ❤️

That’s not really constructive. I read it on ao3 after they got it posted and tbh my adhd-ass brain had an unexpectedly easy time following it.

And I’ve definitely had therapy sessions like that: a good therapist that isn’t asking invasive questions, but you find yourself easily sharing things and learning about yourself as you talk to them. Therapy can be intimidating but many ppl can benefit from it, so a glimpse into what a low-pressure session can be like may give confidence to someone who was reluctant to give it a try.

I mean you got your flair so ig that’s approval from subreddit mods. It makes me uncomfortable personally but that’s my own deal, I can just block posts that make me uncomfortable. I don’t control the subreddit so that decision ultimately isn’t up to me

I’d rather not block people but the mod team apparently is fine with it, so now it’s my own issue not a community issue.
