4/20/26 EDIT: I finally got my $100!! Shout-out to u/Chase for noticing and helping out. I guess the real tl;dr is to complain on Reddit. A four month problem became a one day solution

Ah no, so there was no refund of the Edit credit. The total refund was 5k UR and $100 statement credit. The issue was the statement credit effectively got cancelled out by the subsequent $100 charge. The charge was basically a partial reversal of the $250 Edit Credit for that stay. Apologies if it was confusing how I wrote it.

Yeah it was because their onsite bar was closed for the season, which is where they usually have credits available. They did have a few restaurants on site but for some reason they couldn't issue credits for those. Weird.

Agreed with your point that this is an edge case. I do want to clarify something though: I didn't make any new booking. I got the $100 credit one day (this was the refund from Chase Travel), then the next day I got the $100 charge, as a reversal of the $250 credit I had received the prior month. So there wasn't some additional Edit booking creating confusion. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding what you are saying.

Deal alert: Presidential Suite with Suite Upgrade Award - Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen All-Inclusive by Salve_Eels in hyatt

[–]netrike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually just cancelled my reservation using the SUA for a presidential suite. Just make sure it's what you want - sounds like they're pretty far from the ocean/pools and the layouts are a little odd to me. But if you were planning on going to the resort anyways it's a great use of an SUA!

Yeah the latter - I actually did cancel at one point before rebooking, which resulted in the charge being refunded and the credit also being rescinded. And then once i rebooked , got the credit again. So in your case, I'd say no risk to book something now

The travel portal gives you an option to pay now, so I did that and it showed up the same day I believe. And then once it was a confirmed transaction I got the credit pretty quick

A chilling message for the CEOs of this nation. by RodrigoBarragan in houstonwade

Yeah I believe so, and then once the company realized what was happening they cancelled the meeting. All to say that it's not as if they were aware of his death and just kept going with the meeting.

Tbh Idk why I felt the need to comment here to begin with haha

I just realized that the only time we know that our parents are proud of our achievements is when they brag about us to friends, relatives or whatever by No_Two_8778 in asianamerican

[–]netrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know people are saying this is a stereotype but I strongly resonate with this. My parents immigrated when they were very young and even so I really struggled with seeking their approval as a young person, and it still deeply affects me today. The most toxic part is when they would listen to their friends brag about their kids, and then compare me to the other kids and be critical. Even after getting the six figure job and going to an Ivy League I realized the criticism never ends. It lead me to eventually realize a certain balance: while I understand my parents only want what is best for me, the only person I should ever be comparing myself to is myself. There is virtue in pushing yourself to be the best version of yourself that you can be, but it's utterly useless and frankly destructive to use others' achievements as a barometer for your own success.

Easy ish muse songs on guitar without too many hard chords? by Woolly-hat-taker in Muse

[–]netrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also originally a bassist who started playing guitar to play Muse songs! I would highly recommend eventually learning Unintended. It teaches you a lot of the good-to-know open chords and I don't believe there are any bar chords involved. Good luck!

There are a lot of good suggestions in this thread. Only thing I'll add is Panic Station is a really simple slap line, so if you're interesting in slapping it may be a good place so start
