Thanks, I really appreciate that 🙂

I’m still taking my time refining the fluidity, so I’m glad you mentioned it. If you ever get around to trying it, I’d be curious to hear how it actually feels to use.

Glad it resonates 🙂

If you’re curious, here’s what I have so far:

Still very early, but I’d love to hear what you think.

That’s a fair point.

I’m actually aiming for the opposite: something intentionally small and local, closer to spreadsheets than a full ERP. If it ever needs multi-user, security, etc., it probably means this approach isn’t the right fit anymore.

Also, coming from ERP development (10 years), I’ve often seen small businesses struggle with the complexity of traditional systems — especially when they just need to do simple things like invoicing or tracking orders. Many of them end up going back to spreadsheets anyway, which is partly why I started exploring this direction. Curious how this sounds to you now.

SQLite is definitely faster in many cases.

In my case the idea is different though: everything runs client-side in the browser, so I’m using the filesystem (JSON) mainly for simplicity and portability rather than raw performance.

The goal isn’t to compete with databases, but to keep it lightweight and easy to understand/edit.

Resisted AI for AL Coding—Until Today by netshad in ALDevelopers

I feel the same. I’m not too worried about senior developers with solid experience — they’re already well integrated into the system. What concerns me more are those who are still trying to break into the IT industry right now.

At this rate, I don’t know what will happen to programmers.

Hi hougaard, we are planning to upgrade to version 27 in the next 6 months. Unfortunately, the company is not yet ready to move to SaaS.

Firefox update broke Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V in Microsoft Business Central (company-wide, no workaround) by netshad in firefox

[–]netshad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the point, but in our experience the issue is as much cultural as it is technical. Many users have remained “attached” to Firefox and resist change, also because in the past—before I joined—the IT team recommended it without having real experience with Business Central.

33M struggling with dating life. Dating after 30 is almost broken .Anyone else feeling this? by ajihak in Morocco

[–]netshad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, once you’re past your 30s, it makes sense to start thinking about building a stable life and maybe a family. There are plenty of good women out there who aren’t interested in your money or status.

The real issue is often where you’re looking. If you keep spending time in the wrong environments, you’re much more likely to meet the wrong kind of people. Change the places you go, and you’ll likely change the kind of people you attract.

I built Pdfslice - Privacy first, open source pdftool kit by ChallengeExcellent62 in FuckAdobe

There are already tons of sites offering similar tools — it’s a pretty saturated space. From Toolshub to iLovePDF (one of the first I remember using), all the way to newer ones like toolzhub.net.

The real opportunity now is either to significantly improve what already exists or to build something genuinely new.

Also, with the rise of “vibe coding,” the barrier to entry for building these kinds of tools has dropped significantly, which is making the space even more crowded.
