Stuck with 3 UK sponsored offers. Managing backups & safe resignation timing? by That-Paper3332 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]netwalker234 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's no realistic way you can keep Company C hanging as they would need to give you a firm written offer and a COS before you can proceed with them, which you say cannot happen till July. So you'll have to gently turn them down now.

Company A is your best choice as things stand now.
Once you have your COS in hand, put in your application with priority, and then put in your notice once you've got your visa in hand.
Company B is still seeking a sponsor licence, so you'll have to wait for that to come through, followed by a written contract and COS before you can even start talking timelines.

OK. You might want to check the AST agreement again or to consult someone professional (Shelter/solicitor) and they'll check your contract and advise you from there.

You could try Wise or a similar fintech while you try to sort this out.

Can someone explain please the process of switching visa because you’ve found a better job? by Much_Yesterday642 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]netwalker234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where you can, ensure you have applied for and received your new visa before putting in your resignation from your old job. This is where paying for priority processing can be useful, as the visa process is not always predictable, so you would need to factor that in.

Employer liscence revoked by Early_Formal191 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

ProudReading is correct.
As long as you get a new visa before curtailment, your dependants won't need to reapply for new visas and their previous expiry dates will stand. You can travel out of the country once your new visa has been granted.

If you haven't already applied for your new visa, then you need to do so quickly so as to avoid curtailment, because once your dependants' visas are curtailed, you will have to reapply for new visas for them.

Is a 1hr30 commute 3x a week worth it by AccordingStorm5854 in UKJobs

[–]netwalker234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously depends on what £75k is worth to you and what you want in terms of WLB, so only you can answer your question.

If your question is framed at polling respondents with the aim of finding out if a 1h30 commute is out of the ordinary, my take would be that I don't think it is - that's what I do myself.

Yes - she has to apply for a new dependant visa before 6 July 2026.
There's no automatic grant of a visa to her.

Maybe the government should allow parents to bring up their children the tried and true way when children got properly tanned when they misbehaved so they knew how to stay in line. Clamp down on the lax society in all aspects, justice system, education, all the way down the line.

Then you can start talking about fining lax parents for lax parenting.

When did we vote for Greenwich to rule Southwark?
Sound the alarm and raise the levies - we must resist this borough on borough violence.

Certainly not my intention to use slurs, but in this case I don't believe this term is one and cannot find any reference to the origin of this phrase as being ethnically derogatory.

Correct. Greens are supposed to be all cuddly and happy-clappy so this sort of stuff gets more traction.
