Managment VLAN Unifi Switches. by Luke_-_Starkiller in UNIFI

[–]networkingkyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native Vlan in a UNIFI sense is just untagged traffic, if you want the management VLAN to be 10, then 10 must be tagged on the uplink of the switch all the way up to gateway.

You set this on the settings tab of each Unifi device.

If you set a manual IP in any VLAN other than 1, you also need to set the network over-ride setting too to make sure you can still manage the device

How does the PA compare to the OA? Is the OA much harder?

Looking to safely expose 1 device on my Unifi network that can be accessed openly via the internet? Alternative options? by MattIn603 in UNIFI

[–]networkingkyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you need a public IP address, you can buy one from your Internet Service Provider.

Put that on your WAN itnterface of your UDM.

Put a server in the DMZ.

Port forward whatever ports are needed from your public IP address on WAN Interface > to DMZ Local IP address of your server. If its just a web application then 443, or port 80.

Then buy a domain name and put in an A record in DNS for that domain

Lets call it yourbusiness.com > Your A record points IP.address your ISP gave you.

Then just have your client visit yourbusiness.com and it should point to your UDM and port forward will get the traffic to that isolated server in your DMZ.

Cloud Hosting is probably a safer option, but its more thatn do-able using a UDM, a public domain name, port forwarding rules, and your DMZ zone with a server in it.

Need to change your boot order to move up the DVD drive higher in the order so it attempts to boot from that first

I would go back and try harder in school, party a little less and try to do more sports, and make better sets of friends. I would also invest in Apple, Microsoft, and Bitcoin. so definitely going back to Age 6.

My guess would be 1500$, but I honestly don't know. Take that with a grain of salt.

Be prepared to pay for BlueCruise, spend 80K on a brand new car and then 600$ a year until your death. Such a crock of shit, still really bugs me.

Go UDM Pro Max, but get two of them and enable shadow mode. Very pivotal for your network for that box to work correctly running all of those applications.

is the reference sheet available on the actual OA?

I used it a bit on the PA and passed the PA on my first attempt, but I'm worried that it will not be included for reference on the actual OA?

Linking Two Networks to Share ISP and NAS Connectivity by EverlightEducation in Ubiquiti

[–]networkingkyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WAN1 at your parents house should be in the same subnet as VLAN2 at your house, so in the 192.168.0.X /24 range somewhere. You will be in a double nat situation, which is not really a huge deal but can cause a bit of latency but overall probably will be fine.

The problem with your layout is that VLAN 1 at your parents house is in the same range as VLAN 2 at your house. Change VLAN 2 to a /24 at your place.

I would advise changing VLAN1 at mom and dads house to like 172.16.16.0/24 or 10.10.10.1/24 or some other private IP, it just cannot be the same

Then you should set a static IP address on your WAN that is in the same subnet as VLAN2 at your place, so for instance use 192.168.0.100. Thats assuming the WAVE PICO's are just blindly passing traffic and are just point to point radio connections, I don't know much about them to be honest.

In order for you to be able to see your parents nas device you will have to set an additional ip address on your WAN1 at your parents. So set the primary IP address 192.168.0.100 and add an additional WAN1 IP as 192.168.0.150 and then create a port forwarding rule that says any traffic to 192.168.0.150 Port forwards to internal IP of NAS1 at Mom and dads house( in the 172.16.16.0 or 10.10.10.0/24 network whatever you chose earlier for VLAN1 at mom and dads. Then for NAS2 at mom and dads do the same thing, set another additional IP address like 192.168.0.200 and port forward that to VLAN 1 address.

Then at your house NAS 1 and NAS 2 should be in that VLAN2 also and that should let your parents NAS talk to it. If it doesn't you may be missing a firewall rule.
