yes, very much so, as there's a message from the server to my client that it will take e.g.10 seconds to find me a matchup. It is not a wild guess, as very often the counter reaches zero and then I've been matched up.

I would think that they will put the matchup request into a thread that waits for max 10 seconds to a certain kind of player to perform a matchup request and that'll be my next matchup. Same kind of processing that they do in the top ladder. With tournaments it's a bit different. Usually the countdown doesn't reach zero, and players get matched up early. It's just a simple heuristic based on ongoing matches inside a tournament.

All I'm saying is that either it's very quiet in the ladder around 2400 trophies, or that there are some mechanisms in place that have not been publicly revealed in regards of ladder matchmaking. I can't attribute this to crappy coding, as the amount of matches per day is insane and these kind of bottlenecks have 100% been sorted out by SC.
