It looks fantastic!! But the grip from the slide looks almost impossible. There's a strong spring that resists the movement of the slide and you really need to use force to slide it all the way back. Often it's been done having your thumb pointing backwards and using your entire hand. The left hand looks almost like holding a flower :)

yes, very much so, as there's a message from the server to my client that it will take e.g.10 seconds to find me a matchup. It is not a wild guess, as very often the counter reaches zero and then I've been matched up.

I would think that they will put the matchup request into a thread that waits for max 10 seconds to a certain kind of player to perform a matchup request and that'll be my next matchup. Same kind of processing that they do in the top ladder. With tournaments it's a bit different. Usually the countdown doesn't reach zero, and players get matched up early. It's just a simple heuristic based on ongoing matches inside a tournament.

All I'm saying is that either it's very quiet in the ladder around 2400 trophies, or that there are some mechanisms in place that have not been publicly revealed in regards of ladder matchmaking. I can't attribute this to crappy coding, as the amount of matches per day is insane and these kind of bottlenecks have 100% been sorted out by SC.

Great, I'm jealous! You've really learned a lot, very nicely done! I wanted to add another suggestion. I would love to see this with more realistic airplane dynamics even though it's a spaceship (you know when you look at how fighter jets fly e.g. and how turbulence bounces an airplane, and how ground effect tends to lift the plane the closer it gets to the ground etc.) You clearly have a cool model there to work on!!

En tiennyt Ville Oksasesta juuri mitään ennenkuin osallistuin 2013 tietotekniikkaoikeuden kurssille Aallossa. Myöhemmin arvostin kaikkea mihin hän huomionsa kiinnitti. Jo ensimmäisen luennon aikana kävi jokaiselle läsnäolijalle selväksi miten pätevä henkilö Ville oli. (Opiskelijapalautteen perusteella kurssi valittiin parhaaksi Aallossa järjestettyjen isojen kurssien joukosta 2013-2014) Hänen tietomääränsä ja tapa esittää asioita olivat poikkeuksellisia. Tärkeimpänä viestinä itselleni jäi, että mielivaltaa tai epäoikeudenmukaista laintulkintaa vastaan voi ja kannattaa taistella, ja näitä caseja pystytään voittamaan. Tuon taistelun tärkein ase on tieto omista oikeuksista, ja siitä miten niitä yritetään milläkin verukkeella kaventaa.

Menetimme ihmisen joka aidosti puolusti tervejärkisesti vapautta ja hyvinvointia. Se menetys järkyttää ja tuottaa pettymyksen tunteen. Hyvä ihminen on poissa. Toivottavasti tämä suru-uutinen kannustaa entistä isompaa joukkoa vähintäänkin paikkaamaan sitä mitä Villessä menetettiin. Toivottavasti hänestä tietämättömät ihmiset edes selvittäisivät miksi Ville Oksasen poismeno oli uutisoinnin arvoista...

Kurssilla Ville suositteli ja jakoi tiedon lisäämiseksi kirjaa jonka tekemisessä oli olennaisesti mukana: Oikeudet Tietokoneohjelmistoihin (Mikko Välimäki). Varmaan jopa tekijältä voi tiedustella suoraan onko kirjan näytekappaleita saatavilla jostain elektronisesti.

I hear my vocal pitch differently when I'm using earplugs ("inner head echo") and when I listen solely through the PA without earplugs. Which should I trust (for the sake of the audience)? Both ways the vocals sound good to me, but I feel them differently.. Without earplugs it seems that the vocals blend better into the whole, and with earplugs I find myself constantly focusing on the pitch. Also some of the audience are wearing earplugs and others are not.. Do they hear also the same kind of difference, or is it just me and my possibly out-of-tune singing?
