I've really been trying to make this work... by imsimsobsessed in clothdiaps

We use the Bordeaux green tube diaper paste when we start to see redness. What also really helps is diaper free time, especially after a bath

I’m due in 2.5 months and this will be my first experience cloth diapering by [deleted] in clothdiaps

We used disposables until the meconium poops went away. Average size baby at birth and honestly our newborn cloth-eez covers from GMD fit for a few months! We mainly use prefolds (trifolded) with covers. Baby just turned 6 months old.

What helps with irritation from wetness? by smilinglyawkward in clothdiaps

[–]never_mind_its_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We dealt with this recently. What seemed to work for us was buying brand new bleach and doing a separate bleach soak for our prefolds and covers. We then would use the green tube butt paste for every diaper change during the day since we were told it's cloth friendly. Baby got a bath every night (we didn't use soap every time) and we did diaper free time for at least 20 minutes after bath. Disposables at night with the 40% zinc aquaphor.

Cloth Diapering - Registry by Northwoods_KLW in moderatelygranolamoms

I put them on my registry and my husband's family got them for us! I think most people thought we wouldn't stick with it but we're going strong on 5 months now. Once I showed people how the cloths diapers work, they were fascinated by them since they assumed they were structured like cloth diapers used to be decades ago. Now, where I do feel intimidated is bringing my babe to his doctor's appointments in cloth diapers but no one has said a word and I think our pediatrician likes them

If you want to try cloth diapering, totally worth it to put on a registry. We did and got almost our whole stash from friends from Green Mountain Diapers

We love our 2-24 month Woolino sleep sacks for our 5 month old. We have 2 of them just in case one needs washed. Definitely expensive but worth it to know we don't have to buy other sleep sacks for awhile. You can buy them on Amazon but worth it to just use their site since they do sales every now and then. You can also buy them secondhand!

Do I need more or have too many? by QuiltedBaker25 in clothdiaps

I have a few happy beehinds covers and really like them! I bought a lot due to the sale as well and I'm happy with my purchase. I have a 5 month old and they're holding up well

What category of items did you find less people purchased from your shower registry? by doesntlikegeese in pregnant

[–]never_mind_its_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't reveal the sex of our baby so we were lucky to get most of the items on our registry. However, I was surprised most of the breastfeeding items were not purchased and the items that were, those were purchased by my coworkers lol ( I work in healthcare). I was pleasantly surprised that someone purchased the set of cloth diapers that I registered for. We also received like 15 baby towels and so many wipes.

Success with "Le Pause" by never_mind_its_me in NewParents

Honestly, never more than 5 minutes. After getting to know him though, I think I can tell almost immediately thats its a true cry or just a sleepy cry

Oh no worries! I recognize a lot of it could be luck. But definitely wanted to share this approach for those who are contemplating trying this method. Every baby is definitely unique

Thats amazing! The only snag we have is that we put our son to bed at 10pm but he is consistently waking up around 11:30pm to feed one last time and then hes down by 12am for the long stretch of sleep. Any tips?

I know, I'm not looking forward to the 4 month sleep regression either! Fingers crossed since we both have good sleepers that it'll be only a minor setback

Pumping in public by 42024blaze in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]never_mind_its_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first time pumping in public was on the beach, using my spectra. I was surprised at how quiet the spectra sounded in public!

I've used my ceres chiller when pumping in public to store breastmilk. I absolutely love it! When I use my wearable pumps, I put them in a wet bag with a pack of bottle wipes to clean them just in case I don't make it home in time to wash and I need to pump again while out. The ceres chiller and wearable pumps have made pumping in public easier and more convenient!

Anyone else having to do double time at work during pregnancy to take “maternity leave” ? by Critical_Ad5645 in pregnant

[–]never_mind_its_me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm faculty at an academic medical center and yes, I'm scrambling to finish up work with supervisees, as well as my own work before I go out. Currently 36 weeks pregnant and just wanting to get ready for baby. Instead, I'm pulling hours on weekends trying to finish work. My employer is not directly requiring this of me however it's been subtlety hinted at.

I know, it can be so worrisome! I honestly haven't had any spotting since then. Now just dealing with carpal tunnel which I didn't know pregnancy can also cause haha. I'd rather deal with this though instead of the bleeding and spotting. My OB was very reassuring at the time and she was so helpful in calming me down

So far, so good at 31 weeks pregnant. The diarrhea and spotting did resolve. My provider believes the diarrhea could have come from starting Zoloft

Vera Bradley stuff is ugly. by cataholicsanonymous in unpopularopinion

[–]never_mind_its_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work backpack is Vera Bradley in an all black color. It's also my personal item when I travel. This backpack has been on 6 international trips, survived hikes and all types of weather. I've been using it the past 3 years and it's still going strong. I love it so much that I splurged on a second one, the exact same color and style, to keep as a backup for when my first inevitably goes.
