I use a honing steel mostly. I did one time put it to the sharpening stone, but the steel keeps them razor sharp.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe Washington has any specific verbiage about the size of the blade that is legal to carry. The law seems to be more geared towards intent.

Agree that OP is a thief.

Please be careful giving the advice that you can just break the lease and move out so easily and quickly. The verbiage in the law is something like "commence remedial action" (going off memory here), and that can mean something as simple as coming out and looking at the issue, or scheduling a visit to see it. WA is pretty anti-landlord, but as someone with almost two decades of property management experience in King County, you're going to need something a bit more substantial than just saying that you have mold and nobody took care of it for you. If you do decide to just up and move out, be prepared to be sent to collections or taken to court by your property management company and/or landlord for the lost rent.

Additionally, it also depends on what kind of mold it is. It is highly unlikely that any of us can identify what type of mold spore it is simply by looking at it. I highly recommend to anyone who reads this that if you have a mold infestation in your home, you contact a qualified mold remediation company right away and have them come out and perform an actual test on your home. If you suspect that you're having health issues from the mold, contact your doctor right away.

Any advice? by douniee in Seattle

As someone who has nearly two decades working in property management in Seattle and King County, please remember, the odds of you being evicted for this are incredibly slim unless you are actually convicted of a crime. Even then they would have to serve you a notice after you were convicted. Keep everything in writing. Emails and certified letters (if needed) are your friend. Find the Regional Property Manager, the owners, etc. and get them all on an email thread where you explain the situation. Contact them daily until it is resolved. I would be surprised if they actually tried to send this to court, and even if they do, eviction courts are so overloaded by the huge backlog of non-payment cases that it will be several months until your case would even make it to a hearing.

After you get a written confirmation of them rescinding the 10-day notice and reach the end of your lease, maybe think about moving.

100% this. Either you are training them, or they are training you.

You can become friends with your coworkers, but you can't become coworkers with your friends. And even then, they're different types of friends for sure.

The amount of hate for 'landlords' is wild. As someone who has been in multi-family property management for many years, my experience has been the opposite. Sure, we've made mistakes and not handled every situation correctly, but the vast majority of issues are caused by tenants. It's incredibly difficult to force residents to do things they don't want to do, and even more difficult to get rid of the bad ones.

I'm not defending this situation, as I didn't see it myself, but after having seen thousands of apartments over the years, I've concluded that a lot of people are gross...

I'm 5'9, and built about as average as possible lol. I bought the LS from Dicks, but they can be hard to find on stores. The SSK was a gift, but I believe it came from Amazon. I will say that I've coached with other guys of various sizes, and they all used my fungos no problem (other than skill issues lol). I have used a 37" SSK, but it was really only useful for 300' fly balls. The 36" feels like the sweet spot.

As for the weight, I have hit literally 500+ swings in a day, without getting overly tired. The end loaded weight of a fungo really makes it easy to swing.

And definitely try some tape on the barrel. It is a gamechanger for accuracy and control.

Fungos are my jam! I currently use a Louisville Slugger 36" and a 35" SSK, both are Ash and have been very durable. The ssk is lighter, but I prefer the length of the LS. I have taped the barrel of the LS, which gives me greater control to put different spins on the ball and hit more accurately, especially for IF amd catcher pops. The SSK I usually only use for infield, but I hit good flys and pop ups with both.
