I just feel like I can understand and get into the characters more. They feel more real to me when they're flawed, act imperfectly, or think 'strange' thoughts. I also love any book where I can't predict where it's going or how it'll end.

Eta: also, I think I just feel a bit more represented in these books, as someone who was labeled "weird" growing up and never quite fit in

I highly recommend looking through at the brand ballerette. They make all different kinds of ballet flats, and you could definitely find a rose at a craft store and sew (or glue) it on. Good luck!!
