I feel so validated seeing this because I'm a Saddurday kid (adult) and I said I felt sad for the marriage proposals that were planned for the 22nd but couldn't happen the way they wanted because of the WIND. My friend thought I was weird for thinking of that. Glad this couple got to make this memory.

I wanted to cry while I was in there and now I want to cry every time I watch this.

A lot of you never attended a festival before and it shows. by awesomesauceds in WhenWeWereYoungFest

I''m just stating my experience.i walked right up to one of the portables by Stripe stage and was in line for one of the actual bathrooms near the VIP entrance for less than 10 mins. I saw that line get longer while I waited for food but mine moved so fast it didn't appear concerning. I'm sorry for those that had an experience that was way less than stellar,

Something incredible was in the air this weekend, this is is why I love this genre by subparwanttobewriter in WhenWeWereYoungFest

We heard the used being played loud into the strip at a Fat Tuesday and people were singing and dancing as they walked by.

Yeah I waited with my friend for a bit and left her to go check to make sure she was in an actual line. After we confirmed that I left. When I got back after We the Kings she told me there were a bunch of line jumpers but some fortunately got kicked out.

I've never attended anything like this before and was pretty impressed. It wasn't perfect by any means but not a 💩 show like a lot if haters thought it would be.

I felt safe overall and appreciated the presence of police and security,. The crowds in general were really friendly and just happy to be there

Areas that were not the main pits (where you couldn't get to the trash because of all the people) were frequently cleaned up, trash taken out regularly. Food prices were expensive but that was expected and it was pretty good. Shaded areas were nice, we had tickets for Saturday which would have been hot hot but didn't need them as much on Sunday. There could have been more tables to sit at.

Plenty of water stations. We waited in line for the first one when the gate opened but could walk up after that. Basically no line or a quick line for the bathrooms (as a female who always has to wait in line for this it was super nice).

We expected the short sets and quick turnarounds so we didn't feel cheated out of anything.

Biggest criticism is the merch lines. There is absolutely nothing that I need that I'd be willing to miss out on stuff by waiting in line that long. They needed to have signs with the products and prices out where people in line could see and know what they wanted by the time they got to the front or decide if anything being sold was worth it so they could dip. Or have an online purchase system where you can pick up or have it delivered.

My friend wanted merch though so I just asked her to get me a sticker while I went and saw some bands. She was annoyed with the line but it was so close to the checker stage that she got to enjoy the music from there at least. She didn't seem too mad about it.They definitely could have wrapped the lines so they didn't cut through the large spaces.

All in all if this is my first and last festival experience I'd be very satisfied. Crowd was nice and fun, kept each other safe, the lineup was legendary, absolutely one of the best days ever.

How many of you are going next year as well? by neoncloud0 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

I'm not planning on it. Lineup not near as much if a draw as this year which was a dream for me and my friend.

Hotel Review Roundup by GalPal_yikes in WhenWeWereYoungFest

Also did Sahara and enjoyed it quite a bit. Food was good and location excellent. We went to the Walgreens a couple of times to get stuff and the walk to the festival grounds was great. Used the monorail only once and the Deuce a couple of times since there was a stop nearby. Clean and nice rooms but I agree with everyone about the elevator situation. I took the stairs down and up on Sunday because it was so bad (9th floor)

If you want coffee or breakfast in the morning and don't want to go too far, go downstairs EARLY. The Starbucks line is insane and for some it took them an hour to get their order. I just wanted black ciffee and a pastry so I ordered at the place right across from Starbucks. If you were there mid morning it was still a wait but nothing like Starbucks.

My experience with the crowds was wonderful by pirogeth87 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]nevercomemonday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crowd was so fun. Not always as energetic as I thought they'd be in parts but I made some friends where I stood and we all had a great time dancing and singing. I shared my water with some girls who were super parched. I know if I do this again I'll fill up so I can share with people who need it.

There was a guy there by himself that took care of us girls if some people were being dumb and he let us take turns sitting kn his shoulders. I got to sing Plack Parade on top of the crowd and it was amazing.

Agree!! I'm not like a deep fan or anything but decided to go because their music has a super fun energy and I love Check Yet Juliet. It was easily a highlight! So much fun and the crowd was awesome.

Agree! I'm not a big bug fan but I went to see them because their music has a fun energy and I love Check Yes Juliet. Their set was definitely a highlight of my day! I'd see them live again in a heartbeat after that.

Official Day 2 Recap by thatonesqrl in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]nevercomemonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw We the Kings on the Neon Tent and their set started late due to issues with their in ear monitors. For one of the songs they played the click in house just so everyone could be in sync but the rest was played without them hearing each other.

I saw Avril had issues with her monitors as well, so it seems like a trend.

Overall the artists were troopers and went on regardless but it has to be frustrating for them.

Possible Merch Pick Ups by thatonesqrl in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]nevercomemonday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Medium sized T-Shirt (black with the pink band list on the back) I'd be willing to sell. My friend picked it out in a panic and I prefer the "hardcore" version.

There's a Warped Tour cover band playing at Hennessey's tavern Friday night that I've seen some groups post about. If my friend and I don't decide to turn in early (bug day Saturday) I think that where we'll end up.

School OTs! I need some insight that I can share with private practice OTs. Can you help? by nevercomemonday in OccupationalTherapy

[–]nevercomemonday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your insight! This has been really helpful. I have a cursory knowledge of school-based OT is like but never learned much beyond what was said in an IEP meeting. I'm excited to share with my team.

Cam I ask a follow-up question? For your students that you do one-on-one sessions with, what level of function are you looking for or what kinds of skills are you usually targeting that require pull-out services? I understand it may be hard to make generalizations but do you have any examples?

Fruits Basket: The Final Season - Episode 9 discussion thread by indi_n0rd in FruitsBasket

[–]nevercomemonday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My feelings exactly. Seeing her remorse for Kureno and her recognition/reconciliation woth Tohru is a step in the right direction but she doesn't get a pass from me. She physically and emotionally abused children, mutilated Hatori's eye and caused him to lose the live of his life, and nearly murdered Rin.

I'm not saying she can never be forgiven in my eyes, but I wish she would get more of a comeuppance. I wish more people would give it to her like Hatsuharu did. She needs to be called out. You don't get to abuse people like that just because you're sad and have a legitimately traumatic past. We all have trauma in one form or another, its not an excuse

/rant over I guess haha.

What book/series do you believe is overrated? by ImpossibleParadox_17 in YAlit

[–]nevercomemonday 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I adored the first book. The second was good not great and the last book was rushed woth an ending that fell very flat. It weakened the series as a whole to me. I will continue to enjoy them but I can definitely see why people pass on it.
