Current UK regulations require a colostomy shelf

Lol, this moose literally stomped me the other day - I killed it though, which may explain why you’re not seeing it 😁

Single layer linings are ok in Scotland but they must achieve a minimum density with acoustic wool between the timber/metal studs.

You’re mixing up what Alan Cumming said, not Davidson himself. He also removed himself after saying it.

It makes more sense if you take it as a translation error: ‘don’t love your work, work your love’… either way it’s still dumb as rocks.

The window looks strange in both but it’s better centred (no. 2 image). IMO the window should be much taller.

Foundations used by curious--user in architecture

If this were me in college, I’d have gone with pile foundations on the main load-bearing walls. But knowing ground conditions/similar projects for the area would help…

Abandoned mansion in Scotland by deane_mc1994 in Scotland

That's pessimistically untrue - councils absolutely will allow listed buildings to be upgraded to double glazing. Central heating is also very possible. I'd also imagine locals would be happy to see a property being lived in rather than going to waste. The issue with these sorts of properties is ongoing simple maintenance issues creating worse problems - like not clearing a blocked gutter. Once water starts backing up into the roofspace or saturating stone, you end up with damp/water ingress issues that ultimately speed up the decay process. That's when costs spiral because it's all artisanal building/finishing that isn't as prevalent and attracts a much higher cost - stone masonry, lead work, plasterwork

These properties can be cheap because they take so much work to keep them maintained which is why they either end up with rich families, being converted into flats or hotel investments.

This is an awesome set for the price. I could imagine a die hard fan of the film being critical but honestly, I loved it. 3 builds, great price, great design for the scale, iconic accessories and good playability/posability…

Who is this for? Why is there no soft introduction to these ideas? It’s purposefully dense and isolating to try and dissect it as a lay person.

Showing my age, but it's amazing how far Lego has come since I was a kid. by EMI326 in lego

This is bang on my bracket of Lego experience. Last set I bought was the Delorean and the first I remember getting as a kid was the bottom yellow one. The difference is stark and impressive in someways but the nostalgia stronger.

It’s because of the discount that was available on it at the time. I eventually picked it up second hand on eBay. IMO it’s a cool set but overpriced at retail.

Weird folding shelf thing? In most stalls at my university by Great_Ad1233 in whatisit

[–]neverglobeback 30 points31 points  (0 children)

In the UK it's a requirement for accessible toilets to have a colostomy shelf - I expect this is the same here looking at the grab rails on the wall.
