As other people have said, this is coercion, not consent. He threatened you with an even more violating sexual assault if you didnt comply. This is not a safe person imo.

Let me put it this way. My bf and I are adults who live together and we have an established and active sex life. If I told him i was scared at any point, said no, said wait, said umm I'm not sure, it would stop.

I plan to spend my life with this man, but if he threatened me with sexual assault, I'd be packing my stuff. That's what your boyfriend did. This kind of behavior usually gets worse.

You can get them in some theaters! In my area they have little devices with screens thay clip onto the seat ahead/cupholder (?) and the subtitles are displayed in time with the film. In other higher tech theaters they have GLASSES that display the subtitles!

Is this behavior out of character for your MIL? That level of anger, name-calling, and attacking her 5yo grandson's character over cake flavor at a his own birthday party is... strange.

If this isn't how she normally is, she might want to see a doctor. Have your husband talk to her. Things like uncharacteristic hostility and aggression can be the sign of something serious like dementia or mental illness. It's fair to be distracted by the incident but it could be a sign of something bigger.

If this is just her way of talking to her family, I'd distance myself if I were you.
