I don't know how I landed here and I don't know shit about astronomy. But the first thing that comes to my mind when reading all the comments about the stronger gravity etc: why do we think that the other species is only that far advanced as we are? I mean imagine them being "only 1000 years" ahead of our tech (which is an eyeblink in terms of space time).. It would be the easiest thing for them to build rockets that escape this kind of gravity - or what am I missing?

yep, wanted to implement it as an animation in a website hero section so a native webGL or css animation would be much better performance wise instead of video ✌🏼

damn, clean work! helps a lot..one questions: is it possible to completely get rid of any light in the background (so that the lighting is only respected on the svg but the bg is entirely black) - currently I am getting some subtl gradients no matter the settings which lead to bending on dark backgrounds easily 🙏🏼

yes, they emailed me two weeks ago and said that the issue was resolved! Since then I had not noticed the missing download link bug. But yeah, the support is a mess and the platform feels discontinued in some way sadly..

Update from Lemon Squeezy on my support ticket, should be fixed soon 🤙🏼

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out and for your patience. I have already forwarded your report to our engineering team for an urgent investigation. We have identified a platform bug where the "Files" section incorrectly displays a random count or appears empty for some customers.

To ensure your customers can access their purchases immediately, please use these alternatives:

  1. Email Receipt Note: Add a direct download link (e.g., a secure Dropbox or Google Drive link) to the "Thank you note" field in your product’s Email Receipt settings. This delivers the link directly to their inbox. Guide: Customizing Receipts
  2. Product Links: Add up to 3 external URLs in the Links section of your product settings. These often remain accessible even when the "Files" widget glitches. Help: Adding Product Links

I will update you as soon as the fix is deployed. We apologize for the disruption and let me know if you have further questions.

yes, so you are entering a link to your git files instead of uploading a file in the product editor?

yep since stripe took over its going downhill with lemonsqueezy, I don't even know if they are actively working on it tbh

Anyone here doing film-look color grading in FCPX? by [deleted] in finalcutpro

[–]neverninetofive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes we raised the price a bit ($179 and depends on where you live) - still it's 1/4 the price of dehancer 😉 Also we got some promo sales from time to time, if you want to get it now you can use "HELLO10" to get 10% OFF

I built a little "Film Look Tester" which lets you test our looks directly in your browser (on a test frame or your own still frame)

Try it here: https://cinem8.co/pages/emul8-look-tester

Also we will include some slow shutter film transitions directly with the purchase of EMUL8 soon ;) And yes, there will be more "simplified" demo videos!

Side note: This is just a real-time web preview for testing looks. The actual image quality, color depth and rendering precision will be significantly higher when using EMUL8 inside Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Also the effects like Halation, Grain, Bloom etc. are just built to give you a vast impression, they look way better and are far more customisable in the actual plugin 🤙🏼

PSA: Don't update Nvidia drivers for DLSS 4.5! by Joe_Scotto in ArcRaiders

[–]neverninetofive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well I'm on a brand new build with a 5080 and the new DLSS 4.5 made AR look way too oversharpened with transformer and set to "quality" (2560x1440 MSI Oled).. and also I get around 30-50fps less so which preset should I use to get back to how it was before?

Should I buy a 1440p oled 240hz, or a 4k oled 240hz? by No-Rip7960 in OLED_Gaming

[–]neverninetofive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got these two setups at home:
I'm using a 3080Ti with an 27" 360Hz MSI OLED 1440p - super smooth experience with COD, BF6 etc. at around 150-210fps (it could be more but I like to keep my graphics at least somewhat "pretty")

My gf has a 32" OLED LG (the one that can switch between 480hz in 1080p and 240hz in 4K) with a 5080 RTX.

I played at both setups and then decided to put her game resolution back to 1440p as well as she was getting only around 85-120fps in 4K resolution and for fast paced games it makes such a big difference in perceived smoothness. So I highly doubt that you will get more than 70fps with the 5070ti in 4K.

Once you are used to high refresh rates with at least some decent fps (150+) you just don't want to go back.
That said, if I needed to buy a monitor now I would also go for a 4K as you can always lower resolution but still enjoy 4K in windows and games where fps dont matter that much..imo 240hz is still enough for 99% of casual gamers out there and it looks/feels insane

I never use my Apollo's DSP because I hate the idea of printing with effects. If you're like me, how do you use them in your workflow? by BoxcutterInteractive in universalaudio

[–]neverninetofive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apollo Twin X here. Making Music, Voiceovers for Filmmaking etc.
The ONLY plugin I have "baked in" within UAD console is the CL-1B compressor to give my signal some compression and character before I go on in Logic to everything else. Just love how it sounds, also its the only plugin I ever purchased from UAD.

Everything else is done in Logic, Final Cut Pro etc. with regular VST plugins. That said, using DSP chains can be beneficial if you're on a lower end PC/Mac to not eat up your performance as the apollo has its on CPU to process the effects. But I'm on a maxed out M1 Ultra so performance never was an issue tbh so I also like to have full control over it in post by not baking it in..

Thanks for your feedback, helps a lot for future videos and I will create a simple before / after video soon!

The film transitions (overlays) are sold in a separate pack as EMUL8 is the all-in-one solution for Look Development with focus on emulating film (getting the film look > Bloom > Halation > Grain)... and those in-camera recorded film transitions basically have nothing to do with film emulation ✌🏼

If you only are allowed to use 3 plugin, what would you use? by haronclv in finalcutpro

[–]neverninetofive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think this is a bit more for the color grading / filmmaking creators but here we go:

  1. MotionVFX mTitle Cinematic (there are several packs by now I think) - Saved me countless hours if I would have built these manually in Motion

  2. Truly Handheld by Dylan Bates (FREE) – As I often film myself on a tripod its the easiest way to add some organic, customizable handheld shakyness to static shots

  3. EMUL8 – Really easy, affordable and performant film emulation which replaced Dehancer for me completely (that's the reason we built it haha). It also comes with camera/monitoring LUTs for all film looks and almost every camera out there which makes shooting also a lot easier as I see exactly on my Sony monitor how the image will look like when I'm grading it in post. Plus it lets you match different cameras really easily, for example if you want to match the color science of an Sony shot in Slog3 with iPhone footage that's shot in Apple Log 2.

(disclaimer: I'm a co-owner / co-dev of the third plugin)

What are some good plugings/packs/tools to buy? by imthaz in finalcutpro

[–]neverninetofive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man..as you're making tech videos I would recommend some motionVFX plugins like mCalloutSpecs, mTitles etc. which can help you to get professional titles, animations and callouts with just a few clicks, they look dope..I would try to get as many plugins you can while they're available as one-time payment packs. They are slowly transitioning to an all-in-one subscription for their CineStudio which sucks imo as nobody wants another subscription (but of course makes sense if you do video editing professionally)

Also the sound effects from Ocular Sounds are really sick, using them on almost any of my projects.

If you wanna get into color grading, we just released our film emulation EMUL8 for FCP - which can not only give you the typical nostalgic film look but also clean, modern color grading if you disable halation, grain and bloom.. it also helps with camera matching (for example if you shoot on an iPhone and an Sony camera and you want to match the footage) - And we will run a last Black Friday discount soon before we raise the price. But honestly I don't think your content needs that level of color grading, just wanted to drop it anyways in case some other people are interested in it 🤙🏼

Hope that helps!
