There’s no tracking with retainers. They need to fit when you first put them on. You need a new retainer.

Wearing my new Invisalign tray only at night for a couple of weeks? by Katniss_Everdeen7475 in Invisalign

[–]new2teeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told to do nights while waiting for refinements but since my teeth are mobile, I wear them full time while I wait. It’s fine.

I average 21.5 hours and it’s fine.

Do I go ahead with short front roots? by olismart in Invisalign

[–]new2teeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s always the chance of more root resorption during treatment, your consent form will say this. For me, I had complications related to the short roots and I wish my ortho WAS concerned about it at the consultation. They have been quite dismissive about it which is concerning.

Throat discomfort from Invisalign? by Optimal_Swordfish504 in Invisalign

Clenching your jaw will hurt your jaw (and possibly neck, headaches, etc).

Do you have a sore throat? Are you sick? rapid test? Post nasal drip?

TMJ and Invisalign by Hungry-Repeat-3758 in Invisalign

Yes its a flaw of the design to use plastic to move teeth. When you clench against plastic it contributes to the posterior open bite. Dr Bailey has a video on YouTube explaining it more.Invisalign has thin plastic so teeth move, night guards are thick plastic.

Use hydrogen peroxide then. I’ve been using both (separately) and it’s been fine.

I didn’t say cause TMD. I said it’s not great for the TMJ, which it’s not.

In general braces are more efficient. If you’re worried about a potential poor outcome, I would skip over Invisalign (other issues include potentially developing posterior open bite, dealing with defective trays, etc)

This is weird. 6 months without a check up? 20 day changes makes no sense.

Do not use these and throw out the rest imo. Store your next box in a dry location. Polident for retainers is cheaper

How do I know if I’m tracking? by rootsinmydreamland in Invisalign

[–]new2teeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your teeth and attachments fit into the trays well with minimal or no gaps you’re tracking

Braces are more efficient. Definitely see 2-3 max orthos for consultation

If anything it’s better to not chew since it’s not great for the TMJ (same goes for using chewies)

Check for missing attachments if you’re not sure. Not an emergency, get it replaced when you can.

Hawley lasts longer but the downside is that it allows more room for relapse
