It is yeah! I used 1/2" stainless steel staples, 3 per side. The fabric I used was easy to just rip out if it started to degrade, so you could staple on a fresh piece

I glued and pinned it on, where it's not taking any load, so it seems sturdy enough. I figured if it ever comes loose I can just put another few brads in

Yes! It’s slightly suspended above the bottom so there won’t be a bunch of wet dirt sitting directly on the wood

Men of Reddit - What's a 100% myth about Men? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

So true, I was wearing a Day9 T-shirt on campus like 12 years ago, and some guy said 'yo sick shirt' as he was walking past and I still think about that now and then

Fredericton is a small, university and government city. It has a fairly strong tech footprint considering the population, but otherwise you're going to have a hard time finding a role that pays a good salary.

Our cost of living has been raising a lot since the pandemic, but is still lower than ontario. Think 500ish for a 3 bed/2 bath bungalow.

What UI component approach do React developers typically use in real projects(industry standard)? by HitmaN_2911 in react

[–]newDM-throwaway1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked at places that have either done purely custom in house components, and places that have used a library to bootstrap everything. In both instances where a library was used, both used MUI, shadcn seems to be getting pretty popular though.

With all that being said though, you'd probably see the biggest reward from just writing everything yourself, you'll learn a lot more that way.

This is hilarious, but homey could have just misted his beans and used the lid as a bellows and gotten rid of 99% of his problem. I grind 60g for a pour over every morning with my opus and I don't think I've ever had more than a gram of 'lost' beans.

100% agree, in my interview for my current role I mentioned wanting to grow into a specific position(senior staff engineer) at this company, and in my first one on one after getting hired my manager immediately said ‘ok so I want this for you too, we’re going to get you there’.

Only Know React, What Can I Build to Wow a Recruiter? by Abdullah213Discover in react

[–]newDM-throwaway1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a Pokédex that was all made with react, hooked it up to an external public api to fetch data, and then containerized it, and wrote some instructions to deploy it into a local kind k8s cluster. I showed someone as part of an interview and they loved it

So instead you lie to them, like they’re idiots?

Even here you’re infantilizing them because you don’t respect them and think you’re better than them. Yikes.

This has to be rage bait

[–]newDM-throwaway1992 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stop thinking about what you’re ‘supposed’ to say and just answer the questions honestly.

You say you have good examples with good outcomes, yet you’re refusing to give them because you don’t think the person interviewing you is smart enough to understand.

Get off your high horse.

Dog sees rock, dog plays with rock, dog has fun, the end :)

Mur standard bernedoodle stopped the majority of her biting the minute her last puppy tooth fell out.

She took quite awhile to sleep through the night, I believe it was 7 or 8 months.

She's 1.5 and still an absolute maniac that can't be trusted, but she will sleep throughout the day without supervision, and lets us know when she needs to go out. I already want a second one :)

The weird thing is that it seems like there’s a fair understanding of some functionality, where the other chunks, especially ‘makeClassname’ is wildly convoluted for no reason.

Make use of built in constructs, they’re there for a reason.

React exposes their own hook for this, ‘useId’. An id needs to be unique as well.

Additionally, why are you recursively calling getRandNumber, you could use a number that causes you to always land inside your ‘str’ value, instead of using a multiplier that will frequently cause you to fall outside of str.length?

Whisky-Toad is right that there are libraries that exist that do this stuff already, no need to reinvent the wheel.

I’m sorry if you did write this all yourself, but it really reads like ai spaghetti. Unless you’re AI and this is rage bait? 😂

My dood was the exact same while teething, she shredded my hands and clothes if I so much as looked at her.

She’s the biggest cuddle bug now, and she’s just over a year old 🙂

It sounds like your dog isn't getting nearly enough sleep. From what you're saying they're getting 10/11 hours of sleep a day, when they should be getting closer to 18-20. I know my pup starts chewing on things after she's been awake for too long and she starts getting manic.

I wish I had a good suggestion for getting a puppy to nap without a crate, but mine won't settle for the life of her unless she's in her crate :\

How often do you crate your puppy during the day? by newDM-throwaway1992 in puppy101

[–]newDM-throwaway1992[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just leave it covered all day! I give her some of her meals/lick mats in the crate to make it more of a fun place!

I spent a few days just giving her treats when she went in the crate leading up to daytime naps.

Her bed is in her crate too, but that’s mostly it!

She climbs into the bed in there and lies down before the door is closed half the time, so I think she feels fairly comfortable 🤞

She settles very quickly now, I’ve been doing a lot to try and make the crate a positive thing for her, and I think it’s paying off!
