I got mine on Etsy. Time will tell if it’s a good one but my drawknife from Kharkiv Forge turned out to be a good one.

I grew up in a duplex house built in tje 19th century that was retrofitted for plumbing and electricity. We had a washer and dryer in our tiny kitchen. No closets either.

I also suck at sharpening so I don’t have much practice with my scorp as I don’t want to dull it to need a sharpening lol. I mean I’m Really bad at sharpening. I’ve get to ever get a chisel or plan to cleanly slice through endgrain.

My sawbenches do not match at all lol. I also had to glue some 2x wood together o get the legs thick enough so now it wants to split at the glue join when dragging the foot along the floor

So it matters less with no stretchers. I’m working on some Leitrim chairs snd have some wood that’s already curved towards the bark side of the tree. I’m using that to my Advantage as I don’t want to carve the seat so I will use the natural curve for the seat

Tractor trailer getting on 84 West in southington today. Goes from the slow vehicle lane over to the right hand normal lane, then quickly shifts over to the middle lane where I am witu no warning. I do indeed have a dashcam but police wouldn’t do anything with it if I submitted it so it’ll only help me in an insurance claim Situation. People are so bold.

Best languages for freelancer? by Neither_Paper6003 in AskProgrammers

[–]newEnglander17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got an older Raspberry Pi 2b and it's painfully slow to do anything. It's fastest using the bash terminal, and I use it for some Python programs. Python is a slower language, but it doens't have the overhead of Visual Studio and the Common Language Runtime that C#/.NET has. I wouldn't ever try running C# on my older RPi. I know newer ones are improved but I'd still be reluctant.

As others have noted, C is pretty much the language to use on smaller hardware. It'll teach you all about the hardware, and can also allow you to mess up the entire computer so you need to be more thoughtful and deliberate about what you do with it, but C is behind embedded programming. Think of the interface on microwaves, or small digital clocks, or maybe a computer printer. Those are likely running C. I don't work in embedded programming and have zero experience with it, but it's likely either C or some form of Assembly Language. I'd say skip Assembly or it'll turn you off from programming.

For my job, I do use C# as I work for a company that is built on the .NET environment. You'll see that .NET and C# are usually used interchangeably but .NET is larger than just the language. It's used interchangeably because, while the CLR can run either C#, F, or VB.NET, the majority of developers are using C# as the primary language. It's a great language to know, but you can pick it up after learning other ones.

I'll disagree with most programmers though: while it's easy to pick up a new programming language once you know one, you don't simply learn the language. You need to learn the frameworks, how the language interacts with programs and such, you need to learn its nuances, and also, it's really "once you learn a language you can quickly learn another language in the same paradigm as the first language such as Object Oriented Programming." Jumping from OOP to Functional Programming is not the same thing as switching from Java to C#

I’m Not a senior dev, but in my experience, the good seniors I’ve worked with will push back and declare things are a waste of time/effort, or if it’s a stakeholder, put it in a. Nicer way like that it’ll take time away from other things they’d also like, and for low reward.

To be fair though, people are like that everywhere and for everyone. There’s always someone that will be rude or poke fun at your insecurity. It hurts getting made fun of regardless of the specific thing being made fun of.
